By a Falun Dafa practitioner in China

(Clearwisdom.net) I am 80 years old this year, and I have a big family of over 30 family members. In the past, during the major festivals each year, we always greeted each other with commonly used terms like "Happy New Year," "Hope you enjoy good health," "Long life to you," or "May you attain boundless longevity." In this year's New Year family reunion party, everybody said, "Falun Dafa is great" instead.

My wife and I obtained Dafa in 1997, and we have wholeheartedly practiced since then. Despite the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) brutal persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners, we have never stopped doing the exercises or studying the Fa. Under Master's protection, our health has been great. I have no problems looking after myself, and even do household chores and ride a bicycle to shop at the market. At the age of 78, I learned computer skills in order to read the Minghui/Clearwisdom website. My wife takes care of the cooking, laundry, and is writing her autobiography. All of our friends said that we look younger than before, are healthy and hearty looking, and are always vigorous and energetic.

My whole family has more than 30 people, and under Master's care and guidance, everybody is very healthy and full of happiness. Some of them work at administrative departments of the government, some are heads of businesses, and some even work in leadership positions in the judicial and public security departments. Grandchildren are in elementary school, high school, college, or at work after college. They all know that we practice Falun Gong and they know that Dafa is good.

On January 29 of last year (lunar calendar), several of my children sent gifts to us for the upcoming Chinese New Year. I told them briefly, "Tomorrow is Chinese New Year, and we are going to host the reunion party as usual. However, when we toast and greet each other, please do not repeat the old terms like 'Happy New Year,' 'Hope you enjoy good health,' 'Long life to you,' or 'May you attain boundless longevity,' especially toward us. Because our good health is from practicing Dafa, so it is more practical for you all to say, 'Falun Dafa is great.'" One of my sons said, "You believe in Dafa, do the exercises and have good health. We all know that, but don't make us get involved in it. Besides, the CCP gives you a pension, so you cannot say bad things about it. You can't say anything like that in front of everybody."

Regarding their fears about the CCP, I had told them before and I still tell them, "I worked for this country for so many years, and they are supposed to give me a pension. It is not just from the CCP. Any democratic country has this kind of retirement system. In the past we had some health problems, but through practicing Falun Gong, we gained good health. It is not necessary for us to go to the doctor, take medicine, and get shots anymore. We have saved a lot of medical expenses for the country and saved you all a lot of problems. We believe in Falun Gong's teacher and in Dafa, so what is not good about it? Besides, don't you know that we did a lot of good things for society? During the Cultural Revolution, the evil CCP labeled me as a counter-revolutionary, and we faced difficulty doing anything like getting into schools, advancing in our jobs, even getting married. After we began practicing Falun Gong, we didn't raise conflicts about it, and we also have no enemies. At present, Jiang Zemin collaborates with the evil CCP to keep persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. The practitioners they persecuted are all good people. Why can't we say 'Falun Dafa is great' in front of everybody?" We talked to them more about Falun Gong, and they had nothing more to argue with us about.

The next day was Chinese New Year. My whole family reserved a party room in the restaurant, and I mentioned this idea to everybody again. In response, my children came to us and greeted us with, "Falun Dafa is great" one after another. The greetings became louder and louder, and in the end all of us said together, "Falun Dafa is great!" "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance is great!" "Greetings to Master Li!" My children said that this year I will be 80 years old, and on my birthday we are going to have our reunion party together and say, "Falun Dafa is great!"
