Ms. Zhang Rongjie in Critical Condition at the Baoding City Detention Center

(Clearwisdom.net) According to a reliable source, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Rongjie is in terrible condition while being illegally held at the Baoding City Detention Center. On March 1, Zhang Rongjie asked to meet with her lawyer. She could not walk to the meeting room after the lawyer arrived, and the detention center authorities refused to let the lawyer go to her cell. An inside source revealed that Zhang Rongjie is likely being hospitalized and is in critical condition.

Ms. Zhang Rongjie, Mr. Zhi Zhanmin, Mr. Wei Haiwu and Mr. Lui Yongwang from Beijing were illegally arrested on August 7, 2005. They are being held and mistreated at the Baoding City Detention Center. Zhang Rongjie has been holding an on-and-off protest hunger strike and was at the brink of death several times. She was held at the Baoding City Legal Hospital for about one month.

On February 17, 2006, the Baoding City Court tried four practitioners in connection with tapping into the cable TV system to broadcast Falun Gong content. The trial was in violation of the Chinese constitution. Zhang Rongjie was skin and bones and could not walk. The police dragged her into the courtroom. She could neither stand nor sit. The police held her throughout the court proceedings.

According to legal experts, there is no law under which Dafa practitioners can be convicted, yet CCP officials from the Baoding City Politics and Law Committee, from the Xinshi District Politics and Law Committee and from the Xinshi District 610 Office interfered with the case. These three agencies, particularly the 610 Office, have constantly schemed and committed crimes against Dafa practitioners over the past six years, even though the practitioners continuously clarify the truth to them.
