Editors' Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they too be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.

(Clearwisdom.net) Duan Xibin was the headmaster of Middle School number 14 in Shulan City, Jilin Province. He had been following the Chinese Communist regime to persecute Falun Gong ever since July 20, 1999. He turned in a list of practitioners working at his school to the authorities and ordered all Chinese Communist Party (CCP) members at this school to transform practitioners. He also forced practitioners to write statements promising to give up Falun Gong practice. In March 2000, Duan was diagnosed with cancer and he died in November of the same year.

Sun Bao was the deputy secretary of the CCP committee of Plant number 10 in Daqing Oil Field in Heilongjiang Province. In the past several years, under his direction, several practitioners of the plant were arrested, detained, and sent to labor camps, suffering both mentally and physically. Other practitioners working at this plant had also suffered persecution to various degrees, such as suspension of salary and illegal fines. Sun Bao also slandered Dafa many times at various meetings. On February 17, 2006, Sun suddenly had a heart attack while in a meeting. He died despite emergency rescue attempts.

Zhang Shiqiang was the police chief of Santong Town Police Station in Likou County, Heilongjiang Province. He was the chief culprit in the persecution of practitioners in his town. He led people to arrest and search the homes of practitioners. In addition, he often beat practitioners and extorted money from them. Over twenty practitioners were arrested by him, over ten were detained, and the money Zhang extorted from them amounted to hundreds of thousands of yuan. As a result, practitioners had their families broken and could not live a normal life. In the fall of 2005, Zhang broke his collarbone during an accident and he has not fully recovered. His wife divorced him because the two could not get along. Now he has also been sued and is busy defending himself.

Because of his performance in persecuting practitioners, he was promoted to the rank of deputy secretary of the Jiyuan City Discipline Committee.

In November 2005, he and his mistress were having an affair in his underground garage when they both died of oxygen deprivation. People did not find out until four days later. He and his lover were found both naked, and none of their family members wanted to claim their bodies. The Jiyuan City authorities still held a service for Guo, claiming he died from an accident.

Geng Jiaye was the security department head of the 420 Plant in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. In 2001, he fired Ms. Gu Xiaorong (age 33), Ms. Wang Quan (age 27), and Ms. Zhang Jinzhao (over 40) from his plant just because they practiced Falun Gong. In order to make a living, the three ladies endured many hardships, which also added a huge burden to their families. In 2004, Geng Jiaye died of lung cancer. After his death, Ms. Wu Chuanzhi, chairwoman of the plant workers' union, continued to carry out the persecution of practitioners. In 2004, practitioners Deng Qixiang and Gu Xiaorong were arrested. Wu Chuanzhi then went to their detention center, attempting to transform them. She slandered Dafa and Teacher. Later, she died from leukemia.
