By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Tianjin

On November 26, 2000, a practitioner from my area and I went to Tiananmen Square to clarify the truth but were illegally detained by the Tiananmen District Police Office. Upon arriving at the District Office, we saw that there were two lines of police officers standing outside the gate. They were about one meter (about 3 feet) away from us. At first we felt a little scared. Then we thought, "We are Dafa practitioners." In May 1999, Teacher said in

"Teaching the Fa at the Conference in Australia" that, "If he is able to let go of life and death, he is a God; if he is unable to let go of life and death, he is human."

With such a thought, we calmed down. We also thought that no matter where we go, we should spread Dafa and safeguard Dafa. In the District Office, the police threw us in an iron cage in the basement. In no time, the iron cage was filled with Dafa practitioners, both male and female, young and old. The iron cage was also covered with Dafa banners and scrolls.

At that time, a practitioner had brought a copy of the newly published Guiding the Voyage, Teaching the Fa at the Western U.S. Fa Conference with her. We all participated in the group Fa-study. After a while, the iron cage could not hold any more people, so the 42 practitioners were then taken to a vehicle. In the prison van, the practitioners opened the window and hung up the "Falun Dafa is good" scroll. It stayed there all the way to the Chaoyang District. Along the way, all the Dafa practitioners shouted, "Falun Dafa is good," "Falun Dafa is the orthodox Fa." Voices so firm and righteous shocked Beijing and the Beijing sky. After we arrived at the detention camp, we clarified the truth to the prisoners, the prison guards, the prison medical doctors, and the interrogation officers.

The next day, the detention camp brought the Dafa practitioners for interrogation. When they asked for names and addresses, nobody responded. Everyone simply said he/she was a Dafa practitioner. The detention camp officer then assigned a number to each Dafa practitioner, yet no one accepted this kind of criminal-like serial number. The evil then started to commit violence. The detention camp officer gathered up over 10 strong prisoners, and started using the "tearing limb from limb by five horses" persecution method on the Dafa practitioners: They pulled a Dafa practitioner out from the crowd, and let two out of the five big-size prisoners grasp the legs, two grasp the arms, and one grasp the hair, and had them yank the body unceasingly.

During this time, one practitioner started to recite a sentence in "Zhuan Falun",

"I am rooted in the universe. If anyone can harm you, he or she would be able to harm me. Put simply, that person would be able to harm this universe." (Lecture One, Zhuan Falun)

The practitioner told other practitioners to recite the sentence in their minds. The practitioners continuously shouted, "Falun Dafa is good," "Falun Dafa is a righteous cultivation way," and "Suffocate the evil."

As a result, the five inmates quickly got tired, but the practitioner was fine, in spite of the torture.

One practitioner said to other practitioners, "I have to go back to my home town because I have told other practitioners there I would return to do what I should be doing. Many practitioners there are waiting for me to return before they want to step forward." Indeed, after going on a hunger strike (without taking any food or water), the practitioner was released. Two days later, more practitioners from the area went to Tiananmen Square to validate the Fa.

On the fourth day, the guard brought over 10 prisoners and ordered them to torture the practitioners. While they were severely beating the practitioners, a practitioner who had not yet been touched sat down and cried. The guard stopped the prisoners and asked the practitioner, "We have not beaten you yet. Why are you crying like this?" The practitioner replied, "With such a compassionate Teacher, such a great Dafa, and so many practitioners telling you the truth, yet you still cannot be saved. Instead, you torture those who come to save you. In fact, you are simply persecuting yourselves. I am crying for you because you are losing your eternal life." The guard thought about the practitioner's words for a while before sending away the prisoners. On the same night, the practitioner was released.

Around noon on May 1, 2003, a practitioner went to post truth-clarifying stickers. After someone reported her to the police, four policemen arrived and pushed her into a police vehicle. This practitioner thought about Teacher's words, "I am rooted in the universe. If anyone can harm you, he or she would be able to harm me. Put simply, that person would be able to harm this universe." (Lecture One, Zhuan Falun)

Thus the police car would not move, so the police had to find another vehicle to pull the police car to the police station.

At the police station, the practitioner clarified the truth to the police. The practitioner also thought, "I will not turn against Teacher and Dafa, or betray my fellow practitioners even if they kill me. This is not the place for me; I should go out -- even if I can write only one sentence of Fa rectification messages a day. Teacher, please help me." With those thoughts in her mind, she suddenly felt dizzy and vomited. The police sent her to a hospital where she was diagnosed with several heart diseases. The doctors said she was in a dangerous condition. The police were afraid to take the responsibility (if she died) so they released her.

Wherever she was, the practitioner persisted in sending forth righteous thoughts and clarifying the truth. After she returned home, she did the three things well every day.

In the spring of 2004, the "Anti-evil cult Education Office" of Tianjin City made several anti-Falun Gong art exhibition posters and posted them around the city. Practitioners in the area sent forth righteous thoughts and coordinated with each other to destroy the posters.

In the summer of 2005, when practitioner A saw a poster at the village party committee office, he/she told practitioner B and C. Practitioner C then went to the office and found a guard there. She sent forth righteous thoughts, clarified the truth to the guard, and destroyed the art-exhibition posters there.

In the winter of 2004, when practitioner A's daughter got married, the welcome words for the guests were, "Please remember, 'Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance' is good; Falun Dafa is good. You will be blessed for remembering them." The practitioners also gave each guest a card promoting Dafa.

Practitioner B's daughter said to the guests at the wedding party, "You all know that although I am illiterate, I do know Falun Dafa is good. If you believe me, you can take a card promoting Dafa." Affected by her righteous thoughts and pure energy field, the guests took the dozens of cards in a very short time. Some people took more cards for their family members and others asked her to make more for them.

On July 20, 2004, because several practitioners developed zealotry and a show-off mentality after they had done some Fa validation things, the evil took advantage of them. The practitioners were arrested and sent to a detention center. Many of their human notions and attachments were exposed at that point. If they were not rational and clear-headed, the evil would strengthen their attachments and human notions.

The several practitioners persisted in studying the Fa, reciting the Fa or writing what they remembered. They also sent forth righteous thoughts frequently. They wrote the following words on the cell wall, "Falun Dafa is good; Falun Dafa has been wronged." The practitioners also clarified the truth to the inmates, doctors, guards, directors, and interrogators. They also taught the inmates Teacher's poems and songs such as, "Falun Dafa is good."

Once, the guards who monitored the cells found everyone in cell #9 singing "Falun Dafa is good." A guard came at the cell and told them not to sing. The head of the cell said to the guard, "Dafa practitioners sang the song, and I could not control them." The head of the cell also loudly recited Teacher's poem, "Falun Dafa Is Good."

The colossal firmament illuminated by the Fa's light
Only after the immense force of Fa-rectification sweeps through
Are the boundless wonders known

Falun Dafa is good
Gradually entering the human realm
The sentient beings need not worry
Gods and Buddhas are already smiling
The guard then left immediately.

After spending eight days in the detention center, the practitioners were all released. When they left, all of the inmates in the cell shouted, "Falun Dafa is good!"

However, although the practitioners were released after eight days, there was a detour. Those eight days had a big impact on the practitioners in the area. The Fa validation of the area suffered some losses, so as practitioners, we should not hold zealotry or a show-off mentality under any situation.

There was this practitioner who did really well in validating the Fa in the past several years but she had a strong notion, "I will not get out (of the prison) as long as Dafa has not rectified this world." Practitioners who knew her discussed this issue with her, telling her that the prisons are not places for practitioners, and that practitioners have a responsibility to save people. Yet she said, "Guards and inmates here also need to be saved, so I should stay here to save them." Maybe this thought resulted in her staying in the prison for several years.

Above are some things we did on the surface. Teacher and all Dafa practitioners do the real things as one body. Because of my limited level, I might have made mistakes. Please kindly point them out if you see any.
