Three Family Members of Practitioner Ms. Min Xiujuan Arrested and Detained for More Than Eight Months

(Clearwisom.net) Five family members of Ms. Min Xiujuan, a Dafa practitioner from Shanghai City, were arrested by the police in 2005. Three of them are still held in the detention center, and they have been persecuted for more than eight months.

Ms. Min is more than 60 years old. Before practicing Falun Dafa, she suffered from many diseases. After she started practicing, her health improved greatly, and all her diseases were gone. She told everyone she met, "Falun Dafa is good and the principles of truthfulness-compassion-forbearance are good." People far and near knew that many of her family members also cultivated in Dafa, and she led a happy family life. After July 20, 1999, when the CCP and Jiang's regime launched the persecution of Falun Gong, her family began a turbulent life.

In 2001, Min Xiujuan's younger daughter and son-in-law went to Tiananmen Square to appeal for Falun Gong and were sentenced to forced labor for one and half years. Her older daughter was arrested and sent to the brainwashing center in the Qingpu District since she refused to write the so-called "guarantee statement" and "criticizing statement." In the brainwashing center, she was handcuffed behind her back and hung onto a window frame for an entire morning because she did the Falun Gong exercises. After she was released, her whole body was weak and limp.

In 2003, Ms. Min 's older daughter was taken to the brainwashing center again. There she was threatened and intimidated. She protested the persecution. When she fell down and broke her leg, she could not take care of herself, and the brainwashing center had to release her. After she returned home, Jiang Peilin, the CCP's former secretary of Anting Primary School, tried to force her to resign from her job, but she resisted with righteous thoughts. With her steadfast belief in Dafa, she practiced the exercises whenever possible. Now she can walk again and has almost recovered completely.

In 2005, all five of Ms. Min's family members were arrested. Male members were held in the Jiading Detention Center, female members in the Baoshan Detention Center. The older daughter and her father were released 20 days later. They had to pay a fine of 10,000 yuan. The other three members have been detained for more than eight months. The younger daughter's child, only two years old, is now living with her 70-year-old grandparents.
