Ms. Rebecca condemns the CCP's outrageous crimes committed against Falun Gong

Falun Gong practitioners hold a press conference in front of the Congress

(Clearwisdom.net) On March 30, 2006, three representatives from Falun Dafa Associations in Sydney, Queensland and Victoria were invited to attend a hearing of the Australian Congress Human Rights Committee. They discussed the Chinese Communist regime's (CCP) ongoing persecution of Falun Gong and harassment of overseas Falun Gong practitioners.

At the hearing, representatives of Falun Gong specifically introduced to the human rights committee the recent revelation of inhuman atrocities taking place in the Sujiatun Concentration Camp in Shenyang City. Most members of the human rights committee have learned about the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong, but they were deeply shocked upon learning the atrocities of harvesting live Falun Gong practitioners' organs and cremating their murdered bodies to destroy the evidence. They therefore gained further understanding of the severity and cruelty of the persecution. The representatives of practitioners also introduced lawyer Gao Zhisheng who has suffered retaliation from the CCP for writing to the Chinese leaders calling for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong. The practitioners also exposed the Chinese Embassies and Consulates, who mailed and spread materials slandering Falun Gong and inciting hatred against Falun Gong to Australian Chinese associations, federal members of parliament, provincial councilors and city councilors.

The representative of Falun Gong practitioners also took the opportunity to introduce The Epoch Times' series of commentaries--The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, to expose the CCP's wicked nature and point out that the CCP does not represent China. The practitioners requested that the human rights committee convey their message to the Congress and government, and hoped that the Australian government would not ignore the value of human rights during its commercial trade. They also called upon the Australian government to voice stronger concerns amidst the global condemnation of the CCP regime's persecution of Falun Gong and help end this human catastrophe as soon as possible.

Members of the human rights committee were very grateful to Falun Gong practitioners for providing information and materials to them and hoped to have more opportunities to meet with practitioners. The hostess said that they have been paying special attention to the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners happening in china, and the Australian government and related departments have been taking all possible opportunities to express their concerns to the Chinese government. She said in the end that though the Australian government has an annual human rights dialogue with China, we need more exposure of those acts against human rights.

The same day of the hearing, Australian Falun Gong practitioners held a press conference in front of the Congress condemning the barbaric atrocities committed at the Sujiatun Concentration Camp, and calling upon Australian Prime Minister John Howard to request that Wen Jiabao, during their meeting, conduct an immediate investigation of the Sujiatun Incident, and immediately stop the persecution and killing of Falun Gong practitioners.

Ms. Rebecca, hostess of the press conference, severely condemned the CCP's outrageous atrocities against Falun Gong, and pointed out that the CCP's Commerce Minister Bo Xilai, who was accompanying Wen Jiabao to visit Australia, once worked as deputy secretary and governor of Liaoning Province. He should take direct responsibility for the crimes committed in the Sujiatun Concentration Camp.

Rebecca also displayed to the reporters more than 5,000 signatures they have collected in the past two weeks. She said that this expressed the Australian people's support for Falun Gong and that she hoped these signatures attracted attention from the Australian government.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Pan Yu, who was once persecuted in Shenyang City, and Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Chen Hong, who was illegally detained several times by the CCP, made speeches at the press conference. Chen Hong also read her 72-hour hunger strike statement protesting against the atrocities committed in the Sujiatun Concentration Camp.
