How to Handle Conflicts Among Practitioners

(Clearwisdom.net)

When we have conflicts with everyday people, we can usually handle them properly. But when conflicts occur among fellow practitioners, we are not able to handle them as well. We may think, "Ah, he is a Dafa disciple. Why should he treat me like this? Who gives him the right to treat me like this? Why doesn't he look within?" Conflicts then appear.

Sometimes I realize that, even though he is a Dafa disciple, his behavior is that of an everyday person when in conflict, so I should just regard him as an everyday person. When I think in this way, I feel much better, but I still cannot cope with it very well.

Later I realized that, no matter what the external environment becomes, no matter whom we run into conflicts with, we should always follow Master's teachings of "Don't hit back when hit, don't talk back when insulted." It is just an excuse if we say that we can handle it properly when we are dealing with everyday people but not with fellow practitioners. Master said,

"To endure completely without anger or grievance is the forbearance of a cultivator." ("What is Forbearance?")

Master stressed this issue in his 2006 lecture "Teaching the Fa in the City of Los Angeles:"

"When others mistreat you, you should respond with just a smile and let that be the end of it. And when others are embroiled in conflict and you are just an onlooker, you should think about it, 'How can I do better? If I were in that position, would I be able to control my xinxing and face the criticism and disapproval like a cultivator?' Cultivation is about looking inside yourself. Whether you are right or wrong, you should examine yourself."

Let's work together and handle this issue well.
