Handle "Sickness" with Righteous Thoughts

(Clearwisdom.net) The following story is about how an older practitioner handled her sickness karma. She told me the story and asked me to share with other practitioners in order to help them overcome interference with righteous thoughts when it occurs.

This practitioner started practicing Falun Dafa back in 1997. Like many other practitioners, the various illnesses she had disappeared after she practiced Dafa. She firmly believed in Teacher, believed in Dafa, and silently did the three things.

In late 2005, however, she suddenly suffered an apparent health problem. She couldn't eat or sleep. She was very weak and lost twelve pounds in about a month. Later she discovered that there was a tumor in the upper part of her leg. Soon she came across two cancer patients, who described the symptoms of cancer and expressed their concern for her health. She was enlightened that it was not coincidental that she came across the two cancer patients.

As soon as she returned home however, she became more and more concerned about the tumor. Despite the unbearable pain, she tried to continue doing what she was supposed to do. Her heart couldn't calm down, though, and she felt as if she couldn't even survive the New Year. She couldn't finish the exercises, send forth righteous thoughts, or study the Fa. She wept when she was home alone.

"I'm not afraid of death. So what? I've already obtained the Fa," she thought. "However, so many friends and relatives know that I practice Falun Dafa. Should I die of illness, not only can I not save them, but they would misunderstand Dafa as well. I must write a note before I pass away, telling other people not to misunderstand Dafa and explain to them that I passed away because I didn't do well, and the evil exploited my problems."

One day, she suddenly realized, "Doesn't that mean that I acknowledge the arrangement of the old forces? How does that make sense? I must deny their arrangements. I must stop the evil from successfully persecuting me. With Teacher and Dafa, what am I still afraid of?" Then she started to send forth the very strong righteous thought, "I must not acknowledge the arrangement of the old forces. I must firmly walk on the path arranged by Teacher to the end!"

She then pulled herself together, as if nothing had happened before. As usual, she continued to study the Fa, practice the exercises, send forth righteous thoughts, and clarify the truth. It was indeed miraculous. Day by day, the painful symptoms got better and the tumor shrunk, bit by bit. Without any pills or injections, with her righteous faith in Teacher and Dafa, and with her righteous thoughts, she became a healthy person again. In as short as seven days, her tumor disappeared and her symptoms were all gone!
