Pingtung, Taiwan: Practitioners Call on President Chen Shui-bian to Help Stop the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s Persecution (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On April 28, 2006, practitioners of Pingtung unfurled banners and posters at Checheng Township Marina Life Hall to appeal to President Chen Shui-bian, who's attending the opening ceremony of the hall. They hoped that President Chen could help to stop the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China.

According to the report from Central News Agency on April 27, Taiwan President Chen Hsui-Bian stated that the CCP regime remained quiet for three weeks after the organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners was disclosed. Only then, three weeks later, did its Ministry of Foreign Affairs issue a denial and invite the international community to come to investigate.

He said there is not direct evidence to verify, but mounting evidence including eyewitness testimonies, the fact that the number of organ transplants in China is higher than those in other countries, the widespread taking of blood samples from detained Falun Gong practitioners, the already-known practice of the sale of organs from executed prisoners in Chinese prisons, suggest that the organ harvesting is happening.

Therefore, the president called for charges to be brought against those responsible, and for the CCP to conduct an in-depth investigation, and put the suspects on trial.

He also called upon the CCP to examine its notorious human rights records, and actively promote political reform and return the power completely to people. By doing so, can it effectively stop the power abuse and human rights abuses.
