My personal understanding about "the Hunger Strike Relay for the Worldwide Human Rights Protection."
This was first started by ordinary people who fight to protect human rights. Their purpose is to protect human rights. They are doing what they are supposed to do. Dafa practitioners should do what our Master asks us to do: the three things. Our mission is to clarify the truth and to save sentient beings instead of protecting human rights. Master mentioned this very clearly in answering questions in his lecture--that is ordinary people's business, and is totally different from the work of Dafa practitioners' efforts against the persecution, validating the Fa, clarifying the truth, and saving the sentient beings. No matter how similar they appear to be superficially, with the work of Dafa practitioners, they cannot replace Dafa practitioners to validate the Fa, clarify the truth, and save sentient beings. Dafa practitioners should be rational ("Validate the Fa with rationality, clarify the truth with wisdom, spread the Fa and save people with mercy") to do well the three things, and harmonize what Master wants. The ordinary people's "hunger strike to protect human rights" is targeting the "sickness" of "the evil communist party." However, we Dafa practitioners are targeting the "spirit" behind this "sickness." Ordinary people can hardly remover this "sickness" of "the evil Communist Party." Why could the "June 4 incident in 1989" and July 20, 1999 not remove the sickness? During this Fa-rectification process, when the evil spirit behind the sickness is being cleared away is the time when many "doctors" (those ordinary people fighting to protect human rights and democracy, etc.) are appearing. All these happenings show the heavenly climate changes.
There appeared in this human society many well-known and courageous people who are against the persecution. Master mentioned in "Teaching the Fa at the 2005 Canada Fa Conference,"
"Of course, as the overall Fa-rectification continually pushes forward, the situation in the world and that of the entire Three Realms changes constantly. The actions you have seen by people today bear much resemblance to how things are in the heavens. Put differently, if the lives of many of the world's people correspond to those of celestial bodies and have certain backgrounds, then think about it: doesn't [how they act here] relate directly to how things are in higher realms at this time? Of course, humans at the outermost surface aren't clear on things. Right now many people are willing to step forward, because a lot of the different realms' beings and kings can see that Dafa's success in Fa-rectification is unstoppable and certain. So one after another they are giving their stance and showing it in their actions."
Dafa disciples are not coming to treat the "sickness" of ordinary people or of the ordinary people's society. Instead we are saving lives in a fundamental sense. If we become attached to the "sickness" of ordinary people or ordinary people's society, it will cause us to get lost. If we depend on those "doctors" or hold them in great esteem, we are actually getting diverted from the Fa-rectification righteous path of the Dafa practitioners. The good changes in ordinary people's society are meant to cooperate with Dafa practitioners in clarifying the truth and saving sentient beings. If we have the attachment of worshiping them, the old evil forces will make use of our loopholes to persecute or interfere with them. We should only calmly do well what we are supposed to do. In that way, we are truly responsible for Dafa and for the sentient beings. In this way, we are truly responsible for these people.
As Dafa practitioners validate Dafa and clarify the truth, the formalities that were created in ordinary society are necessary. But we should also pay close attention to the way and method that we use. We should use "different methods" according to different environment and individuals. For example, the situations inside and outside China are different, and we should use different ways in validating the Fa and clarifying the truth. Outside of China, we use the method of large-scale rallies, and use the media to clarify the truth. This cannot apply to the current situation inside China.
This is only my personal humble understanding. There might be some discrepancy in what I mentioned about the fellow practitioners and things. This is what I know so far. The purpose of my writing this article is not to target any specific person or thing. It is because I do not want to see us suffer from any losses when we are aware of our shortcomings. I hope fellow practitioners will understand this and point out any shortcomings.
