Status of Practitioners Imprisoned in Guanghan City, Sichuan Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Mrs. Zhang Daju in Huilong Village, Nanxing Town, Guanghan City, Sichuan Province is over 70 years old. In 2002, Mrs. Zhang was arrested by Guangxing Town police when she was clarifying the facts in Gaungxing. She was transferred to the Guanghan City Detention Center on the same day. Mrs. Zhang was released fifteen days later. In August 2003, Zhang Daju was arrested again and sentenced to eight years of forced labor. Mrs. Zhang is now imprisoned in Longquanyi, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province.

Mr. Yang Shouming is a practitioner in Huilong Village, Nanxing Town, Guanghan City, Sichuan Province. He is also over 70 years old. Mr. Yang is Zhang Daju's husband. Because Yang Shouming practices Falun Gong, the Nanxing Police have repeatedly harassed and intimidated him. In 2003, the police forcibly searched Mr. Yang's house and beat him until he fell unconscious. When Mr. Yang regained consciousness, he was transferred to the Guanghan City Detention Center and was persecuted further over there. Yang Shouming was detained for over six months and then sentenced to eleven years of forced labor. Mr. Yang is now imprisoned in the Huangxu Town Jail in Deyang City, Sichuan Province.

Mr. Yang Yourun, 31, is a practitioner in the Heping Team Ten of Nanxing Town, Guanghan City, Sichuan Province. He worked for the Guanghan City Carbon Factory. On February 2, 2002, Mr. Yang was arrested for clarifying the facts in Huanxi Team Eleven in Nanxing Town. He was sentenced to six years of forced labor. Yang Yourun is now imprisoned in Deyang City's Jiuwu Factory, located in Sichuan Province.

Mrs. Zhang Runzhi, 44, is a practitioner in Eshe, Xinping Village, Guanghan City, Sichuan Province. On July 12, 2002, she was arrested for clarifying the facts. Mrs. Zhang was sentenced to five years of forced labor. She is now imprisoned in Longquanyi, Chengdu City.

Ms. Zhao Xianchang, 35, was a teacher in Guangshan Middle School in Guanghan City, Sichuan Province. In June 2000, Ms. Zhao went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. She was detained for fifteen days by police officer Jiang Tianxing. On December 23, 2000, Zhao Xianchang was arrested again by officer Jiang for clarifying the facts. She was sentenced to two years of forced labor. Because Ms. Zhao refused to renounce her belief, she was arrested at her office by Yang Changjin from the Education Bureau and officer Jiang at 3:00 p.m. on June 21, 2004. Ms. Zhao was fired from her job and was sentenced to three years of forced labor. Zhao Xianchang is now imprisoned in the Nanmusi Women's Labor Camp in Zizhong County, Sichuan Province.

Mr. Wu Tianchong, over 40, is a practitioner in Team 1 of Guangxing Town, Guanghan City, Sichuan Province. In September 2001, he was arrested by Guangxing Town police. He was released after serving two years in forced labor. On April 6, 2004, the Guangxing police and members of the 610 Office broke into Mr. Wu's home and arrested him. Wu Tianchong was sentenced again to three years of forced labor and is now imprisoned in Xinhua Prison, Mianyang City, Sichuan Province.
