By a Falun Dafa Practitioner in Los Angeles

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners in Los Angeles held a press conference on the square in front of City Hall at noon on May 2, 2006. They called for the American government to drop the charges against Dr. Wang Wenyi, to direct their attention to the reason for Dr. Wang's protest at the White House, and to help stop the seven-year-long brutal persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), especially the harvesting of living Falun Gong practitioners' organs.

Displayed at the rally were horrifying pictures of tortured Falun Gong practitioners. Banners stated both in Chinese and English, "Secret Chinese Death Camp Sells Organs from Live Practitioners." "Stop Persecuting Falun Gong." "Stop Harvesting Falun Gong Practitioners' Organs." "Falun Dafa Is Good." Falun Gong practitioners also re-enacted organ-harvesting at the CCP's forced labor camps and concentration camps.

Each picture spoke a thousand words. All of those who died had families, spouses, children, brothers and sisters. It was too cruel! He said the banners and pictures told him about the barbarity of the CCP's regime. There were even 36 death camps where people were killed and their organs removed! It reminded him of what his godfather told him about the appalling killing of Jews at Nazi concentration camps. The CCP's barbarity was unacceptable in modern society and civilization. You are admirable for stepping out to expose such brutality. He also suggested that Falun Gong practitioners hold such an activity every month and request special meetings with the City Council.

Call for Dropping Charges against Wang Wenyi and Paying Attention to the Background

Professor Wu Yingnian of UCLA pointed out that Dr. Wang Wenyi's protest at the White House was earth-shaking. It has not only won support from the American people and media who value freedom, but also embodied the spirit of not yielding to the power of the CCP regime. On behalf of local Falun Gong practitioners in LA, Professor Wu called for the American government to drop the charges against Dr. Wang and redirect its attention to the reason for Dr. Wang's protest: seven years of bloody persecution of Falun Gong by the CCP, especially the recently exposed anti-human atrocity of harvesting Falun Gong practitioners' organs.

Professor Wu summarized facts of the persecution and pointed out that the confirmed cases reported at the Minghui website was only a tiny part of the whole persecution, especially as it related to organ harvesting. The peak of this crime happened between 2001 and 2003. It wasn't exposed until recently by two witnesses. The "Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China" (CIPFG) had been established with the joint effort of Minghui website and Falun Dafa Association. Several investigators' applications for visas to go to China to make on-site investigations were rejected for no reason. Professor Wu called on the American government and international organizations to provide moral and technical support to the coalition.

American practitioners James White and Matt Gnaizda also expressed their strong request for the American government to drop the charges against Dr. Wang and immediately engage in an investigation of Chinese forced labor camps and concentration camps, to stop the genocidal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and to help save thousands of innocent lives.

Conscience Won't Allow Us to Keep Silent.

Mr. Qu Zheng, an engineer at JPL of NASA and fellow alumnus of Dr. Wang at the University of Chicago, said his colleagues had hard time understanding how a human being could possibly conduct such unimaginable crimes against another human being. Qu thought many people hadn't realized the role of the CCP's propaganda. The propaganda of the whole nation was committed to an overwhelming campaign to demonize Falun Gong since the beginning of the persecution. Under such influence, the first reaction of most Chinese upon hearing "Falun Gong" was "crazy people" or even "human trash". Anne, one of the two witnesses, had mentioned in her testimony that her ex-husband, a former surgeon involved in organ-harvesting, was told he was helping the CCP with "cleansing". It was the same way that Nazi had regarded Jews. The CCP had forced the mentality into the culture that the CCP's class enemies should not be treated as humans and they had no dignity or rights. Qu mentioned that Anne's ex-husband had been greatly disturbed when he saw a note dropping out of the pocket of a Falun Gong practitioner for whom he was about to do the organ removal operation. It said, "Mom, happy birthday!" The conscience of the surgeon was disturbed, because at that moment he realized the victims who died under his knife were real people who had parents and children and treasured their lives! Facing such inhuman atrocity, our conscience won't allow us to keep silent. This is the true reason behind Dr. Wang's unconventional protest. He expressed his complete moral support for Dr. Wang.

Verifying Harvesting of Live Falun Gong Practitioners' Organs with Personal Experience

Falun Gong practitioner Li Shan had been thrown into forced labor camps and mental hospitals several time in China. Before she came to the U.S. in 2004, she had suffered memory loss and a mental breakdown due to extended mental and physical torture.

Ms. Li said thousands and thousands of Falun Gong practitioners had been to Beijing to appeal since the persecution was launched. A police station was dedicated to arresting Falun Gong practitioners from the provinces. Because of the evil implication system, kind-hearted Falun Gong practitioners wouldn't tell their names and addresses for fear of implicating their local officials and company leaders. Some of them were sent to Beijing Xin'An Women's Forced Labor Camp. Some were sent to northeast China.

Ms. Li recounted that the policemen threatened practitioners, "You will be sent to the desert!" "You will be killed like an ant!" When Falun Gong practitioners were transferred from one place to another, they were handcuffed together forced to knee on the floor facing the seats. It looked like an empty van from outside. When some practitioners were called out, she thought they were being released. Now thinking back, she thinks they were probably sent to death camps.

Li said the CCP shamelessly deceived the world by showing off grass, flowers and fish tanks in the camps. They would have a persecuted practitioner say how the CCP had saved her. The CCP devastated one physically and mentally and then made him express his gratitude in tears. Even Nazis could not compare to the evil CCP.

Based on the deceptive nature of the CCP, an independent investigation without interference is a must.

Murders Stimulate Tide of Quitting the CCP

Ms. Li Hailun, representative of the Global Service to Quit the CCP, said the CCP's killing of innocent people had stimulated a backlash from all walks of life in China. It has been condemned by all the forces of justice in the world and allowed more Chinese people to see the evil nature of the CCP. More and more people are quitting the CCP and its affiliated organizations. The number has reached 10 million. Just like the sudden collapse of the former Soviet Communist Party, the CCP's collapse will come soon.

She strongly called for the international community to immediately investigate the Chinese forced labor camps, to stop the crime of organ-harvesting, to rescue Falun Gong practitioners and to bring the criminals to justice.
