Validating Falun Dafa and Clarifying the Truth to my Colleagues

(Clearwisdom.net) In 1995 I learned Falun Gong by chance. During the past
years of my cultivation, always protected by Teacher, I experienced many
tribulations and tests, and also did many things that a Dafa practitioner should
do. I noticed that the Clearwisdom.net had called for papers for "The
Second Mainland China Falun Dafa Practitioners Cultivation Experience Sharing
Conference on the Internet." Although my understandings are quite shallow,
participation is important. I am joining the participation by sharing pieces of
my several years' cultivation experiences on paper. In the beginning of 1995 my life hit rock-bottom. The company I had started
many years ago went bankrupt, and time-consuming litigation followed. In my
life's journey I had pursued [many things] in vain and experienced great
difficulties and hurts. When I was tired and deeply hurt, an accidental
opportunity led me to the precious book "Zhuan Falun." I didn't initially know the value of the book. When I read further I suddenly
felt it was a book completely different from any other books I had read before.
I couldn't agree with some viewpoints right away, but the broad and profound
principles in the book deeply attracted my heart, like a magnet. I used all my
after-work free time and finished the book in seven days. Then, I borrowed the
book Falun Gong from a coworker and learned the five sets of the
exercises. Later, I heard there was a practice site near my home. Thus I began
to cultivate in Falun Dafa, and later my wife also began the journey of Dafa
cultivation. There were then many practice sites throughout the city. During the height of
the Qigong exercise trend, several leaders in my company read Zhuan Falun
and other Dafa books. One of them even went to Teacher's lecture class. Some of
company leaders' families were Dafa practitioners, but for unknown reasons they
did not reveal it to the public. I didn't care that much and openly declared
myself to be a Dafa practitioner and I did the exercises in a public area during
the company lunch break. Everyone had become accustomed to it. Prior to practicing Falun Gong I had worked for 17 years in a remote region
where the conditions were harsh. I had developed many illnesses. My heart,
liver, lung, and other major organs all had problems. My stomach, intestines and
lumbar area pained me to no end. I also had high blood pressure, high
cholesterol, high blood sugar, fatty liver, and other problems, involving over
ten areas. Before learning Falun Gong I was in pain from illnesses, depressed
from a company setback, and mired in the turmoil of schemes in society. I was
exhausted. Days seemed like years. When I woke up at night, my head felt as if
it might to explode. I "tasted bitterness." Being human was so
difficult! One day not long after I learned Dafa I vomited and had black diarrhea for
three hours. I knew that Teacher's fashen [law body] was cleansing my
body. From then on, every once a while, Teacher would arrange to eliminate my
karma. Because I was able to treat this with righteous thoughts, the ordeal
passed quickly. I cannot remember how often during the past years my karma was
eliminated. But it is a fact that ever since I practiced Falun Gong, all kinds
of illnesses vanished. All physical pain and illnesses were cured without
medical treatment. I hadn't spent a penny on medical care. I truly understood
what it means to be healthy in mind and body. For someone who had been tortured
by illnesses and heavy mental burdens, I cannot describe the joy I felt once I
was released from all that. I let it be known that I practiced Falun Gong. Someone like me who had all
kinds of illnesses, in addition to being older, got rid of all the sicknesses
since beginning cultivation. In more than ten years, my name was never on the
company's medical reimbursement list. Other people averaged at 3,000 yuan
to 4,000 yuan a year. Some people even were reimbursed 14,000 yuan a year. My
case is a convincing argument of Falun Gong's healing power. Everyone who knew
of my condition prior to and after practicing Falun Gong showed their amazement
and praise of Falun Gong's miraculous healing of my illnesses. Many colleagues
asked for Dafa books from me. Some of them also wanted to learn the exercises. Since July 20, 1999, the media spread adverse propaganda nationwide. The
Chinese Communist Party (CCP) issued orders to layers upon layers of
organizations. With directives from the upper echelons, my company attempted to
make everybody "examine his conduct, make self-criticisms, and declare his
position." The situation worsened rapidly. Many people who used to practice
covertly didn't dare to continue. Those who participated in local group practice
stopped practicing since the practice site was closed down. Some Dafa
practitioners had persevered in cultivation for many years, but faced with
family pressure they reluctantly agreed to quit. Not long after July 20, 1999, the company's CCP secretary representative
spoke with me. He told me to follow the central government's
"decision" and be on the same side with the central government. I said
to the secretary, "I am an 'old career changer' (retired from the military
and changed career); you should know about me. My practicing Falun Gong doesn't
contain any political pursuit. Many know the beneficial results of the practice.
You want me to give up and go back to my original sick condition! Do you think
it is going to happen? We have experienced numbers of political movements in the
past, and we both know what is meant by, 'catching an example.' If you want to
catch me as an example, it doesn't matter much to me. I'm prepared for the
worst. But, you are near retirement age. You may not live a content life later
on. I am not threatening you, but because the upper echelons won't let you, the
secretary who 'caught the example,' go easily!" He eventually said,
"You do what is best for you! You know that I have to face the pressure
from above!" Later on the secretary and the higher authorities didn't give me trouble. I
realized, though, for Dafa practitioners to have a good cultivation environment
we should not rely on everyday people's sympathy and favors. We must create a
positive environment through our own efforts. The elderly secretary retired. The
new secretary's mother was a Dafa practitioner. He had some good feelings
towards Dafa. So based on that, I chatted with and clarified the truth to him.
Finally he further improved his attitude. He said, "Your doing the
exercises and wanting to have good health is a good thing. If the higher ups ask
about it, I will deal with them." Just like that, all these years I had a
relatively comfortable cultivation environment. In December 2000, one day I woke up in the morning and suddenly my left hand
was numb and cold. Then, I could not stand on my left foot. I found a stick,
leaned on it and stood up. The whole left part of my body appeared to be not
functioning. My left hand couldn't even hold a toothbrush or a cup. A thought
ran through my mind: this is a typical stroke symptom! Facing this sudden
"symptom," as usual my mind was particularly calm and clear. I
strongly believed that I was a Dafa practitioner and I was facing another
process of karma elimination. There was nothing to be worried about. I wasn't
nervous at all; neither did I feel fear. I called the company and asked for a
day off. As usual, I did the five exercises and waited quietly. The next day was
a Saturday. I woke up that morning and found that the feeling in my left hand
and foot had somewhat returned and were warm. I could also feel them. With the
aid of a crutch I had the strength to walk. The third day, Sunday, I tried and
realized that I could go up and down stairs, as well as ride a bicycle to work,
even though I still did not feel quite my usual self. Just like that, I didn't
take medicine or injection. Such serious stroke symptoms healed without any
medical treatment. On Monday I went to work as usual. I secretly felt happy about smoothly
passing the test. I told coworkers about my "illness." Unexpectedly,
they all scolded me, "You are too bold! You had a stroke. Why don't you get
a CT scan, take an injection or take any medicine? How foolish! You are not
being responsible to yourself." I remembered a doctor once said, "If a
stroke patient doesn't go to hospital for treatment during the initial three
hours and take an injection, he might be paralyzed for life, forever being
untreatable." Some people warned me, "You are lucky this time, but
don't be happy too early! Maybe this is a warning, and the danger is still
waiting ...!" Facing people's caring admonitions, I thought that I must use this living
example to validate Dafa. I said, "I am clearer than anyone about what a
stroke means and what serious consequences it brings. However, do you know why
I was so bold as not going to a hospital when suffering stroke symptoms?
Because I have seven years of experience to draw a conclusion from! You can go
check. I was a sick person before. Ever since I practiced Falun Gong I didn't
need to be reimbursed one penny of medical expenses for seven years! I tested it
on my own body. Some people say that I was stubborn not to take medicine. You
can try to be stubborn and not take any drug while having a high fever for days.
You won't be able to hold up that way. For something that is serious and life
threatening like this, do you think that I joke about my own health and life? I
was able to be out of danger this time. It is not luck, but science! It is a
science more advanced than modern medical science that people believe in! If you
don't believe this, you will see more proof in the future! It is not something
that happens to be true simply by boasting!" After I said the above words, no doubt my coworkers all believed. Many scientists and technical people are employed at my work place. I
interact daily with those who have professional titles, people who are highly
educated. Experience tells us: where highly educated people gather is also a
place that the vicious CCP tries hard to control and manage. Some of them belong
to the group of people whose minds are the most severely poisoned by the CCP's
culture. Because of that, this group urgently awaits Dafa practitioners to
validate the Fa to them, clarify the truth and rescue them. "Everything in the world was established and created for the Fa-rectification,
and Dafa disciples are the great figures of our time. Since ancient times the
beings in all realms have waited in anticipation." ("To the European Fa Conference in Stockholm") Since fate has put me in this work environment, I cannot disappoint the
anticipation of the beings in all realms. I must rescue those whom the Fa can
save. When I first started to clarify the truth there were hindrances and great
difficulties. Sentient beings refused to listen to the truth. Not accepting
truth-clarification materials was common. Some people even tried inundate me
with the CCP's propaganda. They argued from the evil CCP's viewpoints. After
many rejections I deeply felt the importance of "Validate the Fa with rationality, clarify the truth with wisdom,
spread the Fa and save people with mercy..." ("Rationality"
from Essentials for Further Advancement II ) Through practice I eventually learned a technique of truth clarification.
With different people, in different situation, for different topics, I choose
different things to say, mixing the truth into light, joyful day-to-day
conversation. People unknowingly started to think about the truth with me
leading them. For instance, for elderly people I start with the topic of health
and long life. I mention the benefits of Qigong for human health, for illness
prevention, and the special healing results of Qigong practice. For hometown
people, old military partners, old acquaintances and those whom I know well -
aside from talking about my own cultivation experiences - I will also explain
some Fa principles to those who have good inborn quality. I singled out several company leaders that need to be rescued. Whenever an
opportunity arose I would call on them and discuss Falun Gong. I talked to them
in a way they could accept, with emphasis on each one of their particular
situations. I chatted from a different angle at each discussion. The result was
great. Of course, simply relying on chatting and clarify the truth in a short time
does not make the impact last long. In order to make the truth-clarification
materials available to more people more often, I secretly gave them a
truth-clarification video and a copy of the Nine Commentaries
video. I obtained those videos from fellow practitioners and from a
truth-clarification materials production site. I also included a video that
instructs people on how to breakthrough the Internet blockade with security
protection. Those who got the videos were able to browse articles on Clearwisdom.
I provided this service to them so that they could overcome hindrances and
interferences, to choose a bright future. I will follow Teacher's requirements, make the best use of my time to do the
three things well, and fulfill my sacred duty of validating the Fa,
clarifying the truth and rescuing sentient beings.
