Chinese Embassy in Canada Evades and Dodges Visa Application of Investigation Team to Investigate the CCP's Live Organ Removal

(Clearwisdom.net) Former director of the Asian Pacific Division of Canada's Foreign Affairs Ministry Mr. David Kilgour talked with Chinese Embassy officials on Friday, June 23, 2006 about entering China to investigate the CCP's live organ removal from Falun Gong practitioners. The Chinese official was evasive and dodged responsibility. Mr. Kilgour hoped that the investigation report of CCP's live organ removal would generate enough international pressure, so that China would open its doors to accept an investigation by international human rights organizations.

Mr. Kilgour: An underground network of Chinese surgeons, nurses, and hospital administration staff are harvesting organs for sale

The investigation team's intention in meeting with Chinese Embassy officials was to request an unrestricted fact-finding investigation on the CCP's live organ removal from Falun Gong practitioners imprisoned in labor camps and concentration camps.

Mr. Kilgour said when a reporter from the Edmonton Sun interviewed him, "I knew they weren't going to allow me the type of access we need. But I'm hoping our report will generate enough international pressure for them to let us in,"

Kilgour told the Sun that they were investigating allegations that an underground network of Chinese surgeons, nurses, and hospital administration staff are harvesting organs for sale. "Falun Gong members are (allegedly) being held in pens, waiting to be butchered for the highest bidder in need of a cornea, a kidney, or a heart." Mr. Kilgour said.

Appalling evidence found and investigation report will be announced

The other member of the independent investigation team was well-known international human rights attorney Mr. David Matas. He accepted the Falun Gong practitioners' lawsuit against Jiang Zemin in March 2004. In two months, he obtained lots of testimony from victims and related evidence.

After nearly eight weeks of investigation, evidence verification and talking with witnesses in the U.S. and Canada, the investigation team will complete and release an investigation report to the public on July 6. The convening evidence in the report includes testimony of the former wife of a surgeon participating in removal of organs from Falun Gong practitioners.

Mr. Kilgour said on June 22 that after talking to witnesses in the U.S. and Canada, we have obtained lots of facts to be investigated further and convening documents are available.

The Edmonton Sun carried Mr. Kilgour's words, "Some of these organs are immensely expensive. This is becoming an export business for China, and the world is doing nothing about it."

"I've heard of things being done to the Falun Gong prisoners so horrifying I can't repeat them," Kilgour said, adding China recently admitted to the international community that its government executes Falun Gong prisoners.

David Kilgour hopes that a report documenting allegations of illegal organ harvesting from Falun Gong prisoners will entice China to open its borders to international human rights investigators.

Background

Starting in March of this year, three witnesses have disclosed information to The Epoch Times that the CCP's labor camps have been conducting live organ removals from Falun Gong practitioners. On March 28, spokesperson Qin Gang of the CCP's Foreign Ministry denied the existence of Sujiatun Concentration Camp and invited reporters to visit. On May 2, Chinese Embassies denied visa applications of three groups of investigators fromt he Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China (CIPFG).

On the afternoon of May 8, former chairman of Canada's Sub-Committee on Human Rights of the Committee of Foreign Affairs and former director of the Asian Pacific Division of Canada's Foreign Affairs Ministry, Mr. David Kilgour, along with well-known international human rights attorney Mr. David Matas, announced that they will jointly lead the efforts to investigate the organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party. Seven Members of Parliament from the three major political parties were also present to show their support.

Conservative Party (the ruling party) Member of Parliament Rahim Jaffer said, "The stand of the Canadian government is to encourage independent investigation to verify the allegations of live organ harvesting."

On June 2, two investigators sent letters to the Chinese Embassy and requested to go to China to conduct independent investigations.

On June 23, Chinese Embassy officials met Mr. Kilgour and evaded the team's request of "unrestricted" investigation.
