(Clearwisdom.net) On July 4, 2006, the Independence Day parade, the largest parade in Maine, was held in Winslow. Falun Gong practitioners attended the parade for the fifth time. Since more and more people have started practicing Falun Gong in Maine, more practitioners took part in the parade this year. For the first time, practitioners wearing celestial maidens' attire, with Chinese fans, were part of the Falun Gong entry.

Almost thirty thousand spectators enjoyed the parade. The Falun Gong practitioners performed several dances, including the Fairy Dance. Several big lotus flowers were placed on the float, with a young practitioner sitting in the center of each.
It was the first time for many Maine citizens to see traditional Chinese dancing. They enjoyed it very much. Many of the spectators took photos and videos of the dancing. The spectators applauded each movement of the dance.
After the parade, many people greeted the practitioners.
