(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhang Shiquan, 69, lived in Lianjiang City, Guangdong Province. He was a retired doctor from the Women and Children Hospital. On the evening of July 19, 1999, his home was ransacked because he firmly held onto his faith in Truth-Compassion-Forbearance. He was illegally arrested and detained in a cell with death row criminals for more than two months. The prisoners, all sentenced to death, tortured him by not letting him eat and forcing him to call home for money (to be spent by those prisoners), otherwise they would beat him brutally. Later, his family spent ten thousand yuan to bail him out. He was very thin due to the torture. For the past several years, he was threatened and harassed during the government's sensitive dates, which caused him huge mental pressure and damaged his health. He died on February 23, 2006.

Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Li Xiaojing, 69, was a retired worker from a water heater factory in Kashi City, Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region. He has been cultivating Falun Dafa since 1996, but was mistreated after the persecution began. His physical and mental health were severely damaged as a result. In May 2000, he was detained multiple times and extorted of tens of thousands of yuan. His children were all mistreated, and their homes were ransacked by State Security Agents. Mr. Li was detained for more than one month before January 24, 2001 (the Chinese New Year). He returned home after his children paid the extortion demanded. He was forced to leave home to avoid further arrest. He died in Gangu County in Gansu Province on September 5, 2005.

In the Beijing Seventh Branch of the Police Department Detention Center, there was a prisoner transferred there from the Mentougou District Detention Center. He said that in the time between the end of 2000 and the beginning of 2001, there was a Falun Dafa practitioner that refused to tell his name or home address. The prisoner said the guards encouraged prisoners to beat the practitioner cruelly, causing him to be beaten to death. This practitioner spoke with a Hainan Province dialect. Some of the prisoners that beat him had their terms extended six months as punishment, but the guards that encouraged them are still at large.
