The Bitter Experiences of Zhang Xiaolin and Her Husband in Pingliang City, Gansu Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Note: The following is a shortened version of a longer and more detailed article that appeared on the minghui.ca website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net).

Falun Dafa practitioner Zhang Xiaolin is a 54-year-old woman living in the Fenshouchang family neighborhood in the city of Pingliang, Gansu Province. On July 22, 2000, Zhang Xiaolin went to the city hall to practice the exercises. As a result, she was detained for a total of 30 days.

On January 17, 2001, at around 2 p.m., three policemen arrested Zhang Xiaolin and took her to the detention center. On the same day, her husband was also arrested. The policemen were organizing a "transformation" session, and they kidnapped over 30 practitioners for it.

As a result of the detention and the persecution, Zhang Xiaolin’s husband heart and brain illnesses worsened, and his life was put in danger. Liqun Wang of the 610 Office sent someone to investigate at the hospital, and forced Zhang’s husband to write "guarantee statements", even at a time when he was in danger of losing his life to these illnesses. They also forced Zhang Xiaolin’s family members to pay a fine of 1,000 yuan. Zhang Xiaolin’s husband was released after 40 days of illegal detention.
