Practitioner Xia Xiulan from Fujin City, Heilongjiang Province, Still Detained


(Clearwisdom.net) On the night of May 17, 2006, Xia Xiulan, a practitioner from Fujin City, Heilongjiang Province, was illegally arrested on the street by Zhu Dexi, director of the Nangang Police Station, and Zhao Huaixiang, an officer of the Fujin City Police Department. Ms. Xia was later held at the Fujin City Detention Center.

When her family requested her release, police chief Zhang Yuncheng exclaimed, "How resourceful you are! All day long I have been receiving phone calls from other provinces and even from overseas. Fliers publicizing our actions are posted everywhere." He also said deceitfully, "If it were not for these phone calls and fliers, I would have released her already. But now I will release her only if she discloses who made the fliers." He brought the fliers to the detention center and ordered Ms. Xia to reveal who made them. But she has refused to comply with this unjust demand.

The evildoers refused to listen to any facts about Dafa. They insisted on doing things their own way and sentenced Ms. Xia to two years in prison. On June 6, they sent her to the Jiamusi City Detention Center. But the center refused to accept her because she had a serious heart ailment. The police officers immediately returned Xia Xiulan to the Fujin City Detention Center, where she remains to this day. According to legal procedure, they should have released her immediately after the Jiamusi Detention Center refused to accept her. But the evildoers never abide by the law on the issue of Falun Gong.
