Upright and Pure in Mind

(Clearwisdom.net) Soon after I started to practice Falun Dafa, the persecution began. Due to lack of Fa study, I failed to improve my Xinxing for a while, and therefore stopped my practice. Six months later, a practitioner sent me a VCD about the truth of the "Self-immolation" incident. Once again, Teacher pulled me back with His strong and warm hands. I will never forget the hint Teacher gave me in my dream, "My child, walk your path well. There is not much time left. Read the book more, Consummation is near."

In the past few years of practice, I have been constantly experiencing the compassionate salvation offered by Teacher. I started the path to validating the Fa. Timid, I initially hesitated to go out to clarify the truth, but step-by-step I walked out. Whenever we did not have any truth-clarification materials, we made posters ourselves and wrote words on them with spray paint. Once after we finished making a poster two young boys came up to us. My fellow practitioner and I started to ride the bike while the kids were chasing us. As we were running away, I realized that it was not the right response for practitioners.

As Teacher taught us, "As long as you can always keep up your character, ‘one good can overcome a hundred evils’" "We are doing the most righteous things in the world. What are we afraid of?"

I thought and started to turn back. Frightened and surprised, the two boys backed off. I then tried to clarify the truth to them and asked them to remember that Falun Dafa is great. Nodding their heads, they quietly left. I was truly happy for them as they learned the truth. Since then I have been bolder and bolder. Thinking of the sentient beings waiting for salvation, I quickly overcame my fears.

Later the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and various truth-clarification materials were delivered to thousands of homes. Some people were eager to share the materials with others, while others helped us to promote the resignation of the three CCP organizations. Thinking of the progress we have made, we are all very delighted. Recollecting the risky situations we have experienced in the past few years, we realized that every time we were able to get over the hurdles only because Teacher helped us after we cultivated our hearts well.

Because of the large number of people who resigned from the CCP due to our advice, we were often praised for our achievement. While we knew it was a test for us, we were sometimes simply unable to let go of it. Once I heard the praise again. Complacency quickly occupied my mind despite my attempt to let go of it. On that day, we were on the way to distribute truth-clarification materials and everyone gladly accepted them. Then I saw a few people were digging a ditch in a corner. I walked towards and stepped on the asbestos shingles on the ground, slipping right into a waste pit, messing up my shoes. I awkwardly jumped out of the pit and barely managed to deliver the materials to the young men.

I was still thinking about how to deal with the mess but I hesitated to ask for help because I didn’t want to bother anyone. Wearing the dirty shoes, I managed to distribute the rest of the truth-clarification materials. Soon an elderly man came to me so I explained to him what happened. "Just stay here. I’ll fetch some water for you," he said.

The gentleman came with the water and washed my feet and shoes. I was very grateful. "Sir, your great deed will be rewarded," I said to him right before I left. The gentleman smiled without saying a word. Quickly, I regretted that I did not clarify the truth of Falun Dafa to him. On the way home I borrowed from the children the truth material I gave them previously and turned back to give it to the old gentleman. I sincerely hoped that he and his family would have a terrific future.

On the way home, I thought about how I should deal with the shingles that I broke. Fumbling in my pockets, I realized that I had some money. Walking back towards the young men digging the ditch, I asked them who the owner of the shingles was. A young man stepped forward so I asked him how much the shingles cost. He said ten Yuan, so I paid ten Yuan to him right away. Everybody applauded while one woman remarked, "Simply from this (incident), I can tell Falun Gong is good!"

Looking within, I found the reason that I fell into the waste pit was because I did not cultivate well. This was the lesson I would never forget. Now I am writing about it to share with other practitioners to serve as a reminder that we must take complacency seriously and we must enthusiastically read Teacher’s notes, "Shed the Human Mindset."

As the beings that Teacher saved from hell, where would we be without Teacher’s Fa? Only by using the Fa as the standard, listening to Teacher, constantly and firmly washing away the stains in our mind, being filled with the heart of saving the sentient beings, can our hearts be upright and pure enough to light the path for sentient beings on their return home.
