(Clearwisdom.net) I recently made several phone calls to governmental departments that participated in the persecution of Falun Gong. I am writing to share these experiences so that everyone can understand the present situation of everyday people in those government positions.
When I was able to directly connect to the vice president of a certain governmental unit that participated in the persecution of Falun Gong, I told him that the purpose of the call was to tell him not to arrest any more Falun Gong practitioners. I told him that if he continued, it would not help the government or practitioners. He responded with a despondent "Oh!" Since I did not fully grasp the meaning of his response, I persuasively continued, "After Falun Gong practitioners were arrested, in almost all cases they were quickly sentenced. After sentencing, they were sent to the camps where they were imprisoned. This resulted in either their death or permanent disfigurement. These are crimes against humanity. Why is this so difficult for you to realize?"
He conceded this, admitting that the situation is indeed extremely serious, but said that he did not know how to deal with the situation. He sounded very concerned and understood the seriousness of the situation. As I continued to warn him about the consequences of his crimes and actions, I urged him to think about what he had done. He defended his actions and expressed his helplessness. He said he couldn't do anything. I replied that the solution is very simple: Stop arresting Falun Gong practitioners! Start releasing those that were arrested! He responded that he could not defy his superior's order. I then clarified the truth to him, telling him about the danger that Falun Gong practitioners faced when they stepped forward to clarify the truth to their fellow countrymen about the lies and slander that were spread against them. After listening, agonized, he muttered, "How silly! How silly!"
I further clarified and explained the truth and talked about the beauty of fellow Falun Gong practitioners' validation of the Fa after practicing Falun Gong. I explained how and why these practitioners were not afraid to step forward to validate the Fa. Although he did not agree, he understood. I also told him about the international community's concern and rebuke of the Chinese Communist regime's persecution of Falun Gong. After this, I urged him to help me by releasing those fellow practitioners whose names were listed on the Internet. He agreed that he would try.
On another call, I spoke with a certain assistant commissioner in the Public Security Bureau. Without hesitation, I informed him that I am a concerned overseas Chinese person. My call was a matter of great urgency because I was concerned about the arrest of certain friends in mainland China. The persecution of Falun Gong in China is notorious all over the world. I reiterated details of the recent persecution, such as Wang Wenyi's shouting at the White House and the crimes of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. He had nothing to say. It's interesting to note that normally these kinds of sensitive topics quickly generate strong debate, as the other side would refute the facts. This time, there was no debate. He listened attentively for at least twenty to thirty minutes without interruption. At the end of the call, he inquired who my friend was and asked for details about the arrest and promised that he would try to release this person.
I hope that fellow practitioners can make the best use of their time to clarify the truth to these people, to give them the opportunity to redeem themselves.
