Over 20 Dafa Practitioners on Hunger Strike at Changlinzi Labor Camp

(Clearwisdom.net) More than 20 Dafa practitioners, including Zhang Qizhuan, are on a protest hunger strike at Changlinzi Labor Camp in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. Recently, labor camp policeman Li Jianfeng called these practitioners’ families, informing them to come visit the practitioners and sign a document waiving the labor camp of any responsibility should the practitioners die while on hunger strike.

We call on these practitioners’ families to resist the unreasonable request and not help the evil persecute their loved ones: We hope you can go to the local authorities to ask for your beloved ones’ unconditional release. At the same time, we hope that you will warn the labor camp police that they are responsible for all their evil deeds.

Zhang Qizhuan is a middle school teacher in Ningyuan Town, Bin County. He has been cultivating Falun Dafa for many years and he is well-known among the locals as a versatile teacher. After the persecution began, he was illegally arrested, detained, fined, and sentenced to labor re-education many times. In 1999, his school suspended him from his job for his truth-clarification activities. Later, Mr. Zhang, along with four other teachers who are also practitioners, went to the local government and school leaders to clarify the truth and request to be allowed to return to their respective posts. The school leaders did not give them a definitive answer.

These five practitioners then continued to teach their classes, but the school did not give them any pay. Despite the suspended salary, these practitioners kept doing their teaching as usual. Finally, the evil could not tolerate it anymore. On November 1, 2004, town head Qiao Guanglin, town political committee secretary Ma Yubao, and school principals Yu Ximin and Wei Fu, along with policeman Liu Zhongcheng and the National Security Brigade, arrested Zhang Qizhuang and several other teachers and sent them to Changlinzi Labor Camp in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province.

Zhang Qizhuang and other practitioners have been subjected to long-term torture at the labor camp. In order to protest the persecution, they went on a hunger strike. The guards are brutally force-feeding them to further persecute the practitioners.
