A Practitioner from Hebei Province Shares Some Understandings on Cultivation

After I found Dafa in 1998, I made up my mind to cultivate to a high level by following Teacher closely. Realizing that I had begun practicing later than other practitioners, I studied the Fa and cultivated diligently.

Before I found Dafa, I always thought that my fate had been a bad one. After I learned Dafa, I started to understand the meaning of being a human being and that suffering hardships was just to pay back my karma. Not long after I began to cultivate, Teacher purified my body and directed my cultivation, allowing me to see and sense things in other dimensions that were invisible to human eyes.

Several months after I started to cultivate, Jiang Zemin's regime started to persecute Falun Gong all over the country. The slanderous propaganda was everywhere, as if it were covering the sky and earth. I left my home to speak out on behalf of Falun Dafa and Teacher, for which I was arrested and detained in a detention center. During my illegal detention Teacher hinted to me that the evil counted for nothing. Twenty-five days later, I was released and I went home in a dignified manner.

The police took away all my Dafa books and harassed me constantly to prevent me from doing the Falun Gong exercises. They ordered my family members to keep a close watch on me. My family members really followed these orders, and I did not dare to try to read the copy of Zhuan Falun I had received from a fellow practitioner. I had to hide it in a hole in the wall. The evil took advantage of my shortcoming in failing to study the "Fa" well. As a result, my family underwent great sufferings all of a sudden. Within three months, two of my three sons were thrown into prison, and the one left was injured in a traffic accident. I paid 20,000 yuan for his medical treatment, but his right arm is numb to this day. I would have collapsed after such disasters had it not been for Dafa.

One day when I was walking down the street, I saw some posters on the wall that read, "Falun Dafa is spreading all over the world." I felt so bad about myself that I cried. I thought, "Dafa practitioners are validating Dafa, but what I am doing?"

When he saw my sincerity for Dafa, Teacher arranged a Fa study group for me. Little by little I started to see through my selfishness. I made up my mind to rectify all that is not righteous, to do well everything I should do, and to treat everyone I meet compassionately. After that, everything went smoothly. My family members, learning the facts about Dafa, even helped me distribute and post truth clarification materials. From then on, I devoted myself to the Fa-rectification.

My daughter-in-law suffered an ectopic pregnancy and had to have an operation. She cried and asked me to come see her. My first thought when I heard about her conditon was that there would be no problem. I told her, "Our Teacher had said that all of our family members would benefit from our cultivation of Falun Dafa. You can just recite in your mind 'Falun Dafa is good' now that you believe that Falun Dafa is good." She followed my suggestion with great sincerity. As a result, her physical problem was gone and everything turned out to be fine when she went to the hospital for her physical examination.

Teacher will take care of us as long as we behave as Dafa practitioners with righteous thoughts. In the early stages of my distributing and posting truth clarification materials I was always scared.

Teacher said:

"Yet for cultivators, fear or lack thereof proves [one's] humanity or divinity,
and it is what differentiates cultivators from ordinary people. It is something
that a cultivator must face, and the biggest human attachment that a cultivator
must remove." ("Study the Fa Well, and Getting Rid of Attachments is Not Hard")

Little by little, through more Fa study and sending forth righteous thought, I began to do better and better. I was confronted with some risky events, but, with Teacher's protection, I returned home safely. My family members knew what I was doing, so they worried about me very much when I went out to do truth clarification.

My husband, who did not cultivate, had never joined in any Chinese Communist Party (CCP) organization. However, because he failed to see through the evil nature of the CCP, he refused to listen to me whenever I tried to clarify the truth to him. He suffered from some dental problems, and taking medication failed to stop the pain. I wrote on a paper: "Although I am not a CCP member, I was subjected to the CCP's education and was badly poisoned. I used to be unclear about this but now I realize the evilness of the CCP. " Then I asked him to read it and sign his name to it. He did as I asked. As a result, his teeth never pained him in the following several months. From then on, he also started to believe that Dafa is really amazing.

Cultivation is really serious. Teacher requires that all practitioners reach the standard of Dafa. I will be even more diligent in my cultivation by doing well the three things and cultivating myself well with compassion and tolerance. Being diligent along with fellow practitioners, I will be a qualified Falun Dafa practitioner of Teacher.
