Thoughts After Reading the Article "Save People First, Look for Root Causes Later"
- Sharing with Practitioners in Qinghuangdao

(Clearwisdom.net) I was deeply touched by the article from a practitioner in Jinan, "Save People First, Look for Root Causes Later." In the area of coordinating and rescuing fellow practitioners, the practitioners in Qinghuangdao have not been doing well. In the past few years, how many practitioners have been illegally detained, kidnapped, sent to brainwash centers, and sentenced to forced labor? And, how many of them were rescued and returned to the path of validating Fa because everyone worked together and put in efforts to rescue them? The answer to these questions, I believe, is "too few."

Recently, the material sites in Qinghuangdao have been destroyed one after another. Fellow practitioners were arrested, illegally detained and sentenced to forced labor. How many practitioners are trying to rescue them? As pointed out in the article, when we see a person drowning, what should we do? Of course, the first thing we think about is pulling him out or finding someone who can swim well to save him. We should not stand on the shore and criticize the person for not being careful or tell him, "I told you not to walk next to the water. I will only save you if you promise you won't walk next the water again."

Similarly, when we see fellow practitioners being persecuted, if we just criticize and complain about their attachments and miss the best opportunity to rescue them, or even worse, stand by while they are persecuted to death, then where is our xinxing? Aren't' we then succumbing to the evil interference without realizing it?

Were we like that? From many practitioners that I have known, most of them were criticizing, complaining, speculating about fellow practitioners, and were afraid of being implicated. Unlike the article pointed out, "The practitioners outside should completely negate the persecution of their fellow practitioners because no matter how poorly the practitioners do, Master continues to give them opportunities and wouldn't arrange for them to suffer in jails. Only the old forces, evil spirits and rotten ghosts would grab onto practitioners' loopholes and put them into a deathtrap. If the practitioners outside don't ignore their fellow practitioners' loopholes, aren't they unintentionally acting as assistants to the old forces, evil spirits and rotten ghosts? Then are we still walking the path Master arranged for us? When our fellow practitioners face difficulties, if we still talk behind their backs, wouldn't the level of our xinxing and enlightenment level be very low?" Fellow practitioners from Qinghuangdao, we should truly search within ourselves to see if we still have human attachments.

Teacher said in "Teaching the Fa in San Francisco, 2005,"

"No matter what happens, nobody should be affected inside. Each student should think only of giving help as a Dafa disciple as he's able, and there is nothing to get worked up about. Even if you can't help that person you should still face this issue with righteous thoughts. Continue to do whatever you are supposed to. Don't become attached to it by looking at it in a human way, don't make these problems worse in your minds, look very righteously at how it relates to everything else and don't think of it as being very important, and be very calm. The old forces will then lose interest, thinking, 'These people aren't moved. If none of them are moved, what is the point?' They will then let the matter drop, and that person's sickness karma will disappear instantly. That's one scenario.

The other goal applies to that person himself: how well has the person who exhibits the sickness karma cultivated? Is he able to make it through with strong righteous thoughts while in such a state? Does he truly treat himself as a god and pay no attention to any of it whatsoever? Today I read a report on the Minghui website. A student was beaten so badly that her legs were smashed and broken into pieces, and they didn't set her bones before applying a cast. It never even occurred to the student that she would become handicapped because of this. She didn't pay any attention to it at all. She just studied the Fa every day, and her righteous thoughts were very strong. When she was able to sit up a little bit, she started to do the exercises. The doctors told her that her bones had been smashed and fractured in several places, and that the cast had been applied before the bones were set. It was all done by those people in the prison hospital. She didn't pay any attention to it and just told herself, 'I want to cross my legs and do the exercises.' She pushed herself and did it even though it was extremely painful to do. As time went by, she no longer felt any pain when she crossed her legs. The end result is that she has recovered. She can now jump up and down without any problem, and she's just like a completely normal person. (Applause) If any of you can conduct yourself like that, the old forces will absolutely not dare to touch you. Whoever can be like that will be able to make it through when encountering tests. What are 'righteous thoughts' about? That is what righteous thoughts are about."

If we could all do things according to the Fa, I think the situation in Qinghuangdao would not be this serious and the evil would disintegrate as we improve our xinxing.

In the past, I had this type of un-righteous thought. As a result, there was interference in validating the Fa and it was not easily detected. I saw my own attachments, such as selfishness, resentment, looking outward, complaining about others, getting angry and not being compassionate. After making some painful mistakes, I have clearly recognized that cultivation cannot be only in words; it must be put into action. I must eliminate the gap between myself and other practitioners, not let the evil take advantage, and proactively eliminate the evil.

Above are my personal understandings, please point out anything inappropriate.
