(Clearwisdom.net) As a Dafa practitioner from Malaysia, I have been closely watching Dafa’s situation in Singapore. Recently I exchanged with our local practitioners on how Malaysian practitioners could best exchange with and support Singapore practitioners to fulfill Dafa practitioners’ responsibilities during the Fa-Rectification process.

Recently, the Singaporean government has assisted the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to persecute Falun Gong in Singapore. The Singapore practitioners hold two different views about the situation. One group sees that the Singapore government actively persecutes Falun Gong. Therefore, their "truth-clarification" is focused on the Singapore government’s persecution of Falun Gong. The other group does not think the government has persecuted Falun Gong, and hence thinks that the first group is undermining the Fa by being too extreme. As many truth-clarification events in public are prohibited by Singapore’s strict laws, the second group does little to clarify the truth in public.

The two different views have gradually led to an ever-growing conflict. I can feel the resentment among practitioners as they blame each other for undermining the Fa by being too extreme, or not coming out to clarify the truth due to strong fear. Practitioners are also at odds with ordinary people when blaming the government and police for actively participating in the persecution of Falun Gong.

This situation also encompasses their approach to truth-clarification. Those practitioners that think the Singapore government actively persecutes Falun Gong, focused only on this issue when they distributed a warning letter to Mr. Lee Kuan Yew and skipped the main point of the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong. Even when clarifying the truth to the police, they are not kind to them. This has caused great tension between the police and the practitioners.

When Mr. Li Lanqing, former Vice Premier of China and head of the 610 Office, visited a university in Singapore, practitioners from Malaysia and Singapore went there to protest. Once the police saw them, they sent over a dozen policemen and university security staff to follow the practitioners, even when they went to the bathroom. Neither side trusted the other, therefore the tension lasted throughout the entire event.

Another Malaysian practitioner and I found that the police and the security people were very wary and guarded against Dafa practitioners. Some practitioners also became antagonistic towards them, feeling that they were "interfering" with us. After another practitioner and I showed our goodwill to the police, some of them relaxed and started chatting with us. After the event, we told them that it would greatly disturb our neighbors if so many of them were to follow us home. They understood and stopped following us. During the whole process, I felt that the soured relationship between Dafa practitioners and the police was due to a lack of open communication.

As the tensions between practitioners and the government increase, it becomes even harder for those practitioners, who are concerned with Singapore’s strict laws, to go out and clarify the truth in public. They are restricted to clarifying the truth on a much smaller scale, such as distributing fliers to individual homes or sending faxes and other truth materials to China. Without a pure heart, those practitioners have gradually developed fear towards the government, and their truth-clarification activities are restricted and less effective.

At the end of an experience sharing article written by a Singapore practitioner, entitled "Eradicate Old Notions and Validate the Fa Openly in Singapore," there were some editor’s comments added in. The comments included: 1) It is very important to clarify the truth. 2) We need to be benevolent to people in the government and help them reposition themselves, because they have been coerced or cheated by the CCP to some extent, and have also been interfered with by the evil factors in other dimensions. 3) We must familiarize ourselves with the local regulations and be careful at any event, so as not to give any excuse to the evil factors in other dimensions and those people with malicious intentions.

Some Singapore practitioners said that the government is actively participating in the persecution because we have clarified the truth to them and they understand it (but they still interfere). As the editor’s comments mention, truth-clarification is very important and we must be benevolent to government officials and the police. I think we should all ask ourselves, have we really done it well?

Teacher said in "Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A.,"

"As I’ve said, everything that happens today in the ordinary society is the result of Dafa disciples’ thoughts. Even though the old forces do exist, if you don’t have those thoughts they can’t do anything. When your righteous thoughts are strong enough the old forces can’t do a thing."

The outcome of the CCP 16th Congress, the recent struggle between the Blue and the Green in Taiwan, and the Singapore government’s attitude towards Dafa are all the results of Dafa practitioners’ having their own attachments. Since Dafa practitioners’ thoughts are very powerful, when we are attached to something, either thinking "Singapore actively persecutes Falun Gong" or fearing clarifying the truth in public due to concern over strict local laws, the unrighteous field is reinforced.

We must understand clearly that only the CCP persecutes Falun Gong and all other ordinary people are just poisoned by the CCP. Whoever the person is, Dafa practitioners must try to save him/her benevolently. Aren’t we helping those members of the evil CCP to move to a nice future by renouncing the CCP and erasing the evil’s mark on them? The two extreme views by the Singapore practitioners reinforce the unrighteous field. Even though some Singapore government officials might have been poisoned by the evil and done bad things against Dafa, Singapore can do much better if Dafa practitioners don’t reinforce the unrighteous field, but instead keep cultivating, clarifying the truth and being kind to the Singapore government.

Furthermore, it seems to me that Singapore practitioners have many conflicts among themselves and are separated into many groups with different views. Teacher said in the "Teaching and Explaining the Fa at the Metropolitan New York Fa Conference,"

"I’m going to tell you that no matter what kind of conflicts arise, or what kind of situations emerge, it’s bound to be that we have gaps in ourselves. That’s for sure. If there weren’t a gap nobody could exploit it."

"Once you’ve reached Consummation and returned it’ll be almost impossible for you to see each other again, even if you want to. So, you should treasure this part of your karmic relationship. And what’s more, those karmic relationships of yours have been intertwined with each other, and different karmic relationships were formed over every lifetime—it hasn’t been easy."

"Don’t create distance and disharmony between each other over some little, trivial thing. You can’t do that, and you should treasure all this. And also, you need to cooperate in Dafa things, and you should do a good job of cooperating." ("Teaching and Explaining the Fa at the Metropolitan New York Fa Conference")
