By a Falun Dafa practitioner from Heibei Province

In July 2006, a tornado suddenly swept through the south side of Sanggan River Bridge in Zhuolu County, Zhangjialou City, Hebei Province. The tornado severely destroyed the electric power facilities, legal department, commercial retail stores, and buildings along the road at the south side of Sanggan River Bridge. Houses collapsed, the electricity went out, and more than 20 cars of a train derailed.

According to eyewitness, when the tornado came, the sky suddenly turned really dark. Then a huge white tornado column appeared between the sky and the ground. The column immediately turned to black with red, blue and yellow fireballs inside. The column grew bigger and bigger and was accompanied by a loud humming sound. After a few sounds of explosions, the tornado quickly tore through area, causing the severe damage mentioned above. Afterwards, people discussed the disasters caused by the tornado as well as the amazing things that happened during the disaster.

Kang Village Court at the south side of the Sanggan River Bridge was damaged the most severely by the tornado. Only a few collapsed walls were left. In the Transportation Center facing the court, the wall had collapsed and the buses were blown outside the wall and upside down. The walls and roofs of the Supply and Sales Center also collapsed. The most unusual thing was that a six-ton oil tank inside the Huayi Vehicle Repair Shop was blown to a field 60 meters outside the wall of the shop. A big tree 80 cm in diameter on the south side of the gate was pulled out of the ground completely. A tree one foot in diameter was uprooted and blown 200 meters away. Some trees were cut in half. Some telephone poles were also blown down or cut in half, which caused the electricity to go out. The roof of the Electric Power Bureau building, which is very close to the court, was also blown off. At the time, a few people inside the building desperately hid under a table. The heavy winds and debris continuously hit them, and some were injured. Everyone was terribly frightened.

But at the same time, a Falun Dafa practitioner and her family that also live at the Supply and Sales Center were all safe. Their lumber mill did not have any damage, either. When disaster suddenly struck, the practitioner and her family members (who are not practitioners) all shouted loudly: "Falun Dafa is good!" and "Zhen-Shan-Ren is good!" After the tornado, they went outside and found all the support beams and rafters stacked in the yard had not moved even a little, just as if nothing had happened. The whole family witnessed the amazing effect of Falun Dafa. After hearing about this incident, some people said, "It is really good to practice Falun Gong. One person practices and the whole family benefits."

Another remarkable event occurred during the tornado. A woman over 60 years of age lives in Kang Village. She has never practiced Falun Gong. When the tornado came, she tried to close the door, but failed because the wind was too strong. She was very anxious and frightened. Suddenly she remembered that some Falun Dafa practitioners told her that if she was ever in danger, she could call out "Falun Dafa is good." She called out "Falun Dafa is good!" and "Zhen-Shan-Ren is good!" as she ran inside the room. Just then, the whole roof collapsed. She was pinned underneath the collapsed roof. Three support beams hit her head. She fainted immediately. When she came to, she found that she was trapped by the heavy roof and could not move. In this critical situation, she thought of Master Li. She said in her heart, " Master, please save me." Then she started to shout, "Falun Dafa is good! Zhen-Shan-Ren is good!" All of a sudden she was able to slowly crawl out from underneath the roof, and she did not have any injuries. She patted the dust off her clothes and then went to her son's home. One of her nephews had seen the roof collapse and he could not find her under the rubble of the collapsed roof. He thought something bad had happened to her, so he immediately ran to her son's house to ask for help. As soon as he entered the door, he was shocked. There she was, sitting on the bed, telling her son about what had just happened.

After hearing her story and seeing that she was safe, her whole family was very happy and amazed. Her son and daughter-in-law told her, "Falun Dafa and Master Li saved your life. You should tell everyone about your story and let more people know that Falun Dafa is good."

A few days later, this woman's story was widely known. The head of the county, Wang Jiang, and a reporter also visited her home and interviewed her. They asked her, "How did you get out of the collapsed rubble?" She said, "Falun Dafa saved my life." The videotape of the interview was broadcast many times by the Zhuolu County Television Station, but the station muted the sound. The television station has slandered Falun Gong many times and was later struck by lightning in a thunderstorm.

The sudden tornado not only caused big losses, but also left the people affected with many questions to ponder. The Huayi Vehicle Repair Shop is very close to the Supply and Sales Center. How could the tornado throw a six-ton oil tank 60 meters away but not move the support beams and rafters stacked inside the Supply and Sales Center? Why did a woman over 60 years old, who was pinned down by a collapsed roof, not have any injuries?
