Ms. Zhong Yingwei, from Changchun City, Jilin Province, was deceived by police officers when she went to the local police station. She is now being unlawfully held in the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City. She has been sentenced to one year of forced labor.

On August 14, 2006, the police forcibly took into custody six practitioners in the Wanggeling area in Songgezhuang Township, Laishui County, Hebei Province. The practitioners are: Ms. Chang Zhenying; Ms. Yin Yulan; Ms. Dai Fengting from Gao Village, Shiting Township, Laishui County; Ms. Dong Yanjun from Bancheng Village, Shiting Township, Laishui County; Mr. Li Dianfu from Shiting Village, Shiting Township, Laishui County; and Ms. Liu Xiangyun. Four of the six practitioners were severely beaten and they had injuries all over their bodies.

Around 8:00 a.m. on August 14, 2006, a police vehicle suddenly arrived at Songgezhuang Township. Four people without police uniforms came out of the vehicle. They brutally beat Mr. Li Dianfu before dragging him into the car.

Twenty minutes later, Wang Fucai from the Laishui County 610 Office, and Dai Chunjie from the Political Security Group of the police department led over 40 people with clubs in their hands to surround Ms. Zhao Yaping's home. They forced their way into the home and conducted an unlawful search without presenting any legal papers. They did not find anything.

On August 10, 2006, practitioner Ms. Chen Shuting was forcibly carried into a police vehicle at her home in Yi'an Town. She was not allowed to put on her shoes. When her family sent her the shoes, they were forced to pay 50 yuan. Later, officers from the Laishui County Police Department came to Ms. Chen's home and conducted an unlawful search, taking possession of a VCD player and a TV set that belonged to Ms. Chen's daughter-in-law.

Mr. Zhang Chunbo, 46, is a practitioner in the Qinghe Forestry Bureau in Tonghe County, Heilongjiang Province. On March 17, 2006, officers from the forestry bureau forcibly took him into custody while he was at work. The officers then searched his home, confiscating a personal computer, a printer, and other materials. Recently, Mr. Zhang was unlawfully sentenced to five years in prison. He is being held in the Detention Center of the Qinghe Forestry Bureau. Mr. Zhang has filed an appeal.

According to sources close to the case, when Mr. Zhang Chunbo was taken to the detention center, the officers interrogated and cruelly beat him every day. His lips turned black, and his hair was stripped off his scalp.

Mr. Zhang served four years of forced labor in the Qinghe Forestry Detention Center. Both his parents are in their seventies. His son is not married.

Dafa student Mr. Zheng Guosheng lives at Kangmei Division in Wulongbei, Dandong City, Liaoning Province. At 8:00 a.m. on August 10, 2006, he rode a motorcycle to Dandong City for interior design work. On his way, he clarified the truth to the public and was arrested. Mr. Zheng is being held at Baifang Detention Center in Dandong City.

At noon on August 10, Dandong police found two bundles of Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials, some CDs, and Dafa books. Under police coercion, Mr. Zheng gave out the name of practitioner Mr. Ling Xingsheng, who supplied these materials. Eight police officers from Dandong arrived at Mr. Li's home on August 14, but Mr. Li managed to escape. He has since become homeless.

Ms. Fu Xianzhi, 32, is a practitioner from Urumqi City, Xinjiang Autonomous Region. She was turned into the police while clarifying the truth and distributing leaflets at work. On June 19, 2006, officers from the Toutun Police Department in Urumqi City arrested her. She has since been sentenced to forced labor. Ms. Fu is being held in the Urumqi Women's Forced Labor Camp.

Mr. Zhu Tianhui, approximately 30 years old, is a practitioner from Minle County, Gansu Province. He has been arrested and sent to the forced labor camp several times since 1999.

In October 2004, Mr. Zhu was clarifying the truth to the public on his way to Zhangye City when he was turned into the police. He was subsequently arrested by the Zhangye City Police Department. The Minle County 610 Office sentenced him to forced labor. Mr. Zhu remains in custody at the Ping'antai Forced Labor Camp in Gansu Province.

During the two assemblies of the National People's Congress and the National People's Political Consultative Congress in the spring of 2006, Ms. Gao Huating, a retired teacher at Central Finance and Economics University, was arrested at her home. She has been sentenced to two years of forced labor.

In the last two months, six practitioners have been taken into custody in Yanqing County, Beijing. They are: Ms. Song Changyue, Ms. Song Yurong, Mr. Shi Yingji, Mr. Wen Junqing, Ms. Wang Xiuqin, and Ms. Yang Meili (listed in the order they were taken into custody). Mr. Shi suffered internal bleeding in her brain as a result of police brutality, and had to be taken to the police hospital. Ms. Wang Xiuqin and Ms. Yang Meili have been sent to the forced labor camp. Ms. Wang appeared to be sick and the dispatching division claimed that she was in a hospital affiliated with the police, but her family has not been granted any visitation. Mr. Wen Junqing is in the detention center. There is no information on the two other practitioners.

In July 2006, Dafa practitioner Ms. Yang Yongxin, from Gao'an City, Jiangxi Province, accompanied her mother (a practitioner) to visit their relatives in Fengcheng. They were turned in to the police while clarifying the truth to the public. Both the mother and daughter were taken into custody and have since been transferred to the Gao'an City Police Department.

Recently, 14 Falun Dafa practitioners from Changji City, Xinjiang Autonomous Region, have received notice issued by the Changji Prefecture Procuratorate asking them to have attorneys ready for defense. The notice mentioned that the 14 practitioners will shortly be put on trial together.

Ms. You Yuzhen, Ms. Zhao Xuemei, Ms. Yu Yuejuan, and Mr. Geng Zhenjie (who faces his third unlawful sentencing) are among the practitioners notified.

Chuanbei Prison is located in the remote mountainous area of Wangcang County, Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province. In July, about 300 practitioners were transferred there from Beijing. The practitioners are on a hunger strike. Prison guards have escalated their persecution against the practitioners.

Ms. Zhao Shiqiong, a practitioner from Wangcang County, Guangyuan City, was arrested in mid-November 2005, and she has undergone severe beatings. In June 2006 she was sentenced to five years in prison, but every prison she has been sent to has refused to admit her. She has been taken back to the Wangcang Detention Center for continued abuse.

Mr. Ding Weihong was an employee of the No. 3 Mine of the No. 6 Petroleum Extraction Factory. On July 1, he was arrested by security guards at the Daqing No. 4 Hospital while he was distributing truth-clarifying leaflets in the hospital. The guards handed him over to the Rang District Police Department in Daqing City. The officers searched his home, confiscating a personal computer, a printer and other personal items. Mr. Ding was taken to the Daqing City Detention Center. In only 20 days, he was sentenced to two years of forced labor. Mr. Ding Weihong is being held at Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Center in Heilongjiang Province.

1. Practitioner Ms. Tang Guirong from Hegang City was deceived by Yuan Jun and other officers on March 1 into going to the Xingshang Police Station. From there, she was forcibly taken to the No. 1 Detention Center. The authorities refused to release her despite her suffering from the recurrence of heart problems. On April 26, Ms. Tang was sent to the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp.

2. Practitioner Ms. Wang Fengling, 63, cannot read well due to deteriorating eyesight, and she has little education. She did not write weekly reports and was handcuffed with both her arms twisted behind her back for a week. Practitioner Ms. Sun Yunna was also handcuffed the same way during the same week.

3. On April 8, Practitioner Ms. Liu Chunjing was not able to write weekly reports due to nervous system pains caused by back pain. On May 22, the guards handcuffed her for two weeks.

4. In November 2004, all practitioners from the Heilongjiang Province Fertilizer Factory were arrested and sent to prison. Individuals who participated in the persecution include: Shi Fenglin of the propaganda section (86-454-8197101), Li Jingbin (86-454-8197263), principal of the employees' children's school, Yan Delong of the factory police department (86-454-8197328), and Xu Xiaohui (86-454-8197110) of the factory's police department.

Files gathered to incriminate Mr. Li Bangsheng, who remains in custody, have been rejected by the Xichang City Procuratorate in Sichuan Province and returned to Madao Railroad Division. Officials at the Madao Railroad Division sent in the material for a second time, and it was again rejected.

On the morning of August 15, 2006, Ms. Qi Xiuyun was taken into custody while she was at work at the Jiujiulong Market in Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province. The officers took her to the Mudanjiang State Security Division and at same time, they searched her home, confiscating two photocopiers and truth-clarifying materials. The officers released Ms. Qi the same night after extorting 5,000 yuan from her family.
