Taiwan: Changhua County Council Passes Resolution Condemning CCP for Organ Harvesting (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) The 16th County Council of Changhua, Taiwan, passed a resolution on September 26 to stop the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) from live organ harvesting. The resolution was proposed by Li Junyu and Xie Dianlin, and co-signed by eleven councilmen. The resolution was passed unanimously.

Changhua is the eighth county/city which has passed a resolution to condemn the CCP atrocity of live organ harvesting, following Pingtung County, Yunlin County, Chiayi County, Keelung City, Hualian County, Yilan County, Tainan City and Penghu County. Fifty Falun Gong practitioners attended the council meeting on September 26.

The resolution called for the United Nations, international human rights organizations and health organizations to send investigators to Mainland China, publish investigation reports and stop the CCP's illegal conduct. It also requested that the Changhua County Government promote and provide guidance regarding quality and ethics of organ transplants.

In spite of increasing exchange across the Taiwan strait, the Taiwanese have limited knowledge of human rights conditions in Mainland China. To prevent misleading and unknowingly assisting with human rights violations, it demands no delays for the heath departments in creating ethics regulations on informing Taiwanese people regarding organ transplants in Mainland China.

The resolution requested the government to promptly activate all official and non-official information networks to widely spread the news about the illegal live organ harvesting in Mainland China and safety issue to uphold quality health care and save lives.

The international media exposed in March that the CCP harvested organs from living Falun Gong practitioners, sold them for profit and cremated their bodies to destroy the evidence. The crime was condemned worldwide. County and city councils in Taiwan started receiving reports from Taiwanese in May. The people's representatives were shocked by the news.

Councilman Xie Dianlin said it was a shameless crime of the CCP to harvest organs from living people. The atrocity is aggravating. The resolution was passed unanimously by the council. People of the whole nation and the whole world should protest such crimes.

Councilman Li Junyu said that the organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners was a monstrous crime perpetrated by the CCP. He called for international human rights organizations to pay close attention to it and work hard for human rights worldwide.

The Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China has been established and formed by people of justice around the world. The coalition collects evidence in Mainland China and overseas. It aims to completely investigate forced labor camps, jails, detention centers, mental hospitals, hospitals and related facilities where Falun Gong practitioners have been imprisoned during the past seven years.
