(Clearwisdom.net) An event called 'China Time' is scheduled to take place in Hamburg between September 13th and October 1st. A series of events has been planned to celebrate twenty years of friendship between the cities of Hamburg and Shanghai. Former head of state Jiang Zemin who, with Klaus von Dohnanyi, initiated the partnership between the two cities twenty years ago, started the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999. His malicious nature became apparent even earlier because he was responsible for the crackdown on the student protests in 1989, which won him power and influence at the helm of the regime.

Due to this event, Falun Gong practitioners have redoubled their efforts to bring to light the persecution of Falun Gong by the Communist Party in China. They are organizing information activities to tell the citizens of Hamburg about the unscrupulous behavior of the CCP, to look behind the glittering facades in China and to expose the darker corners, like forced organ removal and torture.

On August 12th Falun Gong practitioners in Hamburg organized an information activity in Hamburg's inner city. Although the weather looked threatening, it never really started to rain more than a few drops, although in other parts of the city it was pouring. The downtown area was clogged with people doing their weekend shopping, as usual. When we arrived at our spot, a boy and a girl were still singing German folk songs nearby, which is a rare occurrence but they left with their belongings, as soon as we started to set up our stand. Everything became peaceful once again, except for the voices of the passing people and the usual sounds of traffic.

The topic of our activity was the organ removals. We had prepared petitions to be signed by the shoppers. Practitioners positioned themselves right in the middle of the busy, colorful throng of people and talked to everybody who was interested about the organ removals from living practitioners, the persecution of Falun Gong and the Communist Party of China. Numerous posters, billboards and fliers, as well as the stage props re-enacting organ removals attracted lots of attention. Passers-by were not able to block out the truth. One girl and her friend stopped at a distance from the banners reading "Stop the killings!" "Stop organ removals from living Falun Gong practitioners!" and from the memorial board listing the names of murdered Falun Gong practitioners. She stared at the picture of the murdered Falun Gong practitioners whose chest had been crudely opened and sutured shut again. His face was contorted with unbearable pain. When I asked the girl whether she had questions, she said: "No thank you! I already know about it. It is just that every time I see these pictures they are more terrible than before." Another couple passed our stand and took a flier. While they were passing us they asked: "Falun Gong, isn't this a cult. They had obviously been listening to the propaganda of the Communist Party. We cleared up the misunderstanding with a short explanation. In fact, they had mistakenly associated Falun Gong with the poison gas attacks in Japan. Later, they both smiled with embarrassment and left happily.

Many people were shaking their heads as they walked by, "Too bad that this terrible thing is happening in China." One gentleman came to our stand and had a short conversation with a practitioner. He and his wife had lived through World War II and were able to imagine the kind of suffering the practitioners in China have to endure, "It's terrible," and, "I think it is very good what you're doing", he said. At first, he had told us, "I don't think anything will come of it." After the practitioner had finished her conversation with the gentleman, he changed his mind. He asked where he could sign the petition and wished us success and good luck. A middle aged lady had heard of the persecution of Falun Gong on TV. She asked how it was possible that such a peaceful practice was being persecuted. She was not able to imagine any reasons. She immediately understood the background when we told her about the unscrupulous and malicious nature and the crimes of the Communist Party. The demonstrations of the harmonious Falun Gong exercises also helped to give everyone an impression about the Falun Gong cultivation practice.

The activities lasted from 11am to 6pm. Some of the practitioners stayed at the booth the whole day, they ate a snack but spent most of their free time explaining the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong in China or demonstrating the exercises. Other practitioners with less free time came to help for just a few hours and we always had a few practitioners manning the booth. One practitioner came with his two little children from another city to help the practitioners from Hamburg. When they arrived, the older son wanted to know why red color was splashed all over the table. He asked many questions and his father answered all of them calmly. The children, who already knew about the crimes in China, were sad and disturbed about the organ removals but were able to deal with the truth. Later, the children helped with the booth and played boisterously in the area while their father talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

One practitioner told me about an experience at a smaller event, which took place several days earlier in Hamburg. One ten or twelve year old girl came straight to the poster depicting a dead practitioner, who wore a tortured expression on his face and whose organs had been removed. Her parents tried to pull her away but she refused. "I want to read this", she said. Her parents tried to get her to move away several more times but without success. The girl insisted, "I will only leave when I have read all of it". This was the end of their discussion and the girl left only after she had read the poster.
