A Senior Practitioner: "How I Memorized the Fa"

(Clearwisdom.net) In 2004, a fellow practitioner said that she felt great because she was memorizing the book "Zhaun Falun." After I heard that, I was determined that I would also memorize the Fa. However, only two weeks after I started to memorize the Fa, my sister-in-law gave birth. I suddenly had a lot of things to do and I was not able to calm my mind. I decided that I would postpone memorizing the Fa for a while until the baby got a little older. Fortunately, I immediately realized that these were not my thoughts, and that reciting the Fa was a priority, which should not be influenced by anything else.

I made the resolution that I would get up at 3 a.m. to do the sitting exercise, standing exercises, and to send forth righteous thought. From 6 to 8 a.m., I would memorize the Fa. During the day, I would recite the Fa whenever I had some time between chores. Sometimes I recited the Fa in low voice while I was washing vegetables or clothes. When I was holding the baby I also put a copy of Zhuan Falun by my side. While I was reciting the Fa I smiled at the baby and the baby smiled back at me.

On the day of my youngest daughter's wedding, I also got up very early. I did the exercises and sent forth righteous thoughts and then did my chores. My daughter did not have her own house at that time and continued to live in my house with her husband after she got married. They stayed in my house until their baby was over four months old. For a long time, all the housework fell on my shoulders because my husband was not at home. I also had to take care of my sister-in-law,, who had to go to work. On weekends, my two daughters and my grandchildren would come for visits. I measured myself by the standards of a practitioner and tried to do everything well including clarifying the truth, distributing printed materials, sending forth righteous thoughts, and attending group Fa-study, although sometimes I had to take the children with me. For the last two years, I have memorized the Fa everyday.

I feel that we have to recite the Fa from our hearts; that our hearts must be on the Fa at every moment. This will not only help us memorize the Fa but also help us purify our bodies. We should schedule our time well and not be intimidated by the amount of chores or by the lack of time. One must break through this obstacle.

I wrote this article to share experiences with fellow practitioners who have many chores, to facilitate mutual advancement, and to encourage everyone to find more time to study and recite the Fa.
