The Line of Demarcation Between Hong Kong and Mainland China

(Clearwisdom.net) My nephew is an administrative staff member at a certain hospital in China. In October, he visited Hong Kong along with a dozen hospital staff members for a brief vacation. Below is his account of what he experienced and witnessed while on this tour to Hong Kong:

This trip to Hong Kong really broadened the outlook of the tour members; it was like we were in a completely different world. Regarding Hong Kong's prosperity, local conditions, social customs and historic scenic sites, I do not intend to describe them in detail, because the single most unforgettable and surprising episode relates to the legitimacy and public openness of Falun Gong in Hong Kong. At every tourist destination, there were Falun Gong practitioners clarifying the truth and giving out flyers and VCDs. In particular, along the route to Ocean Park, stretched out over eighty meters, both sides of the streets were lined with conspicuous Falun Gong art displays and huge banners with words like, "Heaven will destroy the Chinese Communist Party," "Renounce the Chinese Communist Party to guarantee peace," and so forth. Loudspeakers were broadcasting the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.

As it was the first time that we visited Hong Kong, the kind of scene we saw before us really startled us all. Some of the staff asked me, "Chief, can we accept the [truth-clarification] materials?" I answered, "Others take them, we can accept them too." "Can we read them?" they continued to ask. "Since we can accept them, we should also be able to read them," I responded.

In Mainland China, occasionally we did receive some Falun Gong truth-clarification materials, but there were not that many and it was not so complete compared with what we received today. Everybody got a copy of The Epoch Times' booklet, the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, the publication, "Disintegration of Communist Party Culture," CDs and many other materials. Some of the materials we received had not been seen before nor heard by anyone in China. Everyone treasured the materials.

Some people preferred to sit and read the materials rather than follow the tour guide. When the tour guide saw the situation, he said, "This is not right, let's get moving; we have lots to cover and see!" One of the tour guides from Mainland China blindly said to everyone, "All the people who were handing out the materials receive their salary from the Americans." These words sound contradictory and certainly inconsistent with what I know, since my younger brother-in-law in China is a Falun Gong practitioner. I have often heard him explaining to everyone that Falun Gong practitioners risk being arrested, beaten, jailed, sentenced and even tortured to death to save people, and that practitioners use their frugal savings to pay for the materials. Where could they possibly get a salary?

Jokingly, I said to the tour guide from Mainland China, "In that situation, could we not ask them how much salary they receive monthly?" The tour guide turned red. Embarrassed, he diverted the subject and said, "Let's get moving, catch up with the group!" Everybody in the group laughed.

The most unexpected thing happened at the time of our departure from Hong Kong. The tour guide from Mainland China made a surprise announcement: "Fellow tourists, please bring out all the Falun Gong propaganda materials that you received and throw them into the garbage bin. Otherwise, if anyone is caught during the boarding search, the consequences will be 7 days' imprisonment, a 5000-yuan fine, and bail guaranteed only with the parent unit's certification."

We were stunned, and unanimously asked, "Why?" The tour guide bluntly said,

"Let's cut the idle talk. This is the order from the Communist party and does not need any explanation. Those who do not want to listen can assume responsibility for their own actions -- to wrap it up in a sentence... this is the line of demarcation."

What a fine "line of demarcation!" China is certainly is the most fraudulent and most deceiving place on earth. This Communist party is the most evil and most wicked, exploiting its multi-faceted policy to its advantage, to continuously persecute the Chinese populace and deceive the Chinese people.
