Support from a Czech MP (Photo)
(Clearwisdom.net) On November 17, 2006, Falun Gong practitioners joined a
march to Prague Castle in protest against organ harvesting in China,
particularly the revelation in 2006 that thousands of living Falun Gong
practitioners had their organs harvested and their bodies cremated on orders
from the Chinese Communist Party. A press conference was held to accompany the
march. The following speech was presented by Katerina Jacques, Member of
Parliament for the Czech Green Party. Ladies, gentlemen and friends, It's a great honor for me to be able to support, even if just symbolically,
the very meaningful, meritorious thing that was accomplished here. But this is
just the beginning. Human rights are indivisible and I can't imagine that we
would put higher value on business relations then on protecting human rights,
dignity and lives when dealing with that regime and holding the Olympic Games in
China. I'm hereby urging our government and governments of all EU member states to
put pressure on China regarding the issue of human rights and not to allow them
to continue with those atrocities, which are clearly obvious from the Kilgour
and Matas organ harvest investigation. [reference to Report into Allegations
of Organ Harvesting of Falun Gong Practitioners in China by David Matas and
David Kilgour.] I thank all of you very much, who have participated in this action. From
myself and the Green Party I say: We'll do the maximum for the Czech Republic to
stand side by side with those for whom human rights have the highest priority. Thank you for your attention. Katerina Jacques. http://clearharmony.net/articles/200701/37722.html
