The Persecution of Ms. Yang Yingqing in Hunan Province
(Clearwisdom.net) [Note: The following is a shortened version of a longer
and more detailed article that appeared on the Minghui.org website (Chinese
version of Clearwisdom.net)] On April 27, 2007, a group of officials from Qiangyin County 610
Office, from the National Security Bureau, and from the police department
and the county government in Yueyang City, Hunan Province, broke into the home
of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Yingqing in Hepingzha Town near Dongting
Lake and took her to the Xiangyin County Detention Center, where they held her
for four days. They took her to the Baimalong Women's Labor Camp in Zhuzhou
City, Hunan Province, on April 21. She was held at the same labor camp once
before, in 2002. Yang Yingqing went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in November 2000 and
local police followed and arrested her. She was taken to Xiangyin County
Detention Center and held for 100 days. In addition, she had 7,000 yuan
extorted from her. Officials from the police department and the county
government constantly harassed her. The police found a Falun Gong exercise instruction tape at Ms. Yang's home in
July 2002. They arrested her and took her to the county detention center. Three
months later they took her to the Baimalong Women's Labor Camp where she went
blind as a result of torture. She was eventually released after repeated
requests from her family. Her eyesight was completely restored after one month
of Falun Gong exercises and studying the Fa. Posting date: 10/13/2007
