Validating the Fa and Saving Sentient Beings Should be First

(Clearwisdom.net) I recently discussed with several practitioners about why my cultivation state had not been good. We uncovered my fundamental problem. We are Dafa disciples during the Fa-rectification period. We should put validating the Fa and saving sentient beings first at all times, instead of intentionally or unintentionally putting personal cultivation first due to being unclear of Fa principles. We should be validating the Fa, not validating ourselves. Our attachments should be eliminated on the basis of Fa-rectification cultivation.

To speak more frankly, we are in a special historical period of Fa-rectification. As Dafa disciples during the Fa-rectification period, the central point is not eliminating personal attachments, but assisting Teacher to complete the new cosmos.

After the persecution of Falun Gong was launched on July 20, 1999, I separated myself from the Fa for nearly three years. After Teacher's repeated and graceful hints and arrangements, and by systematically studying the Fa, I realized that now we should be doing the three things and saving sentient beings. In 2004 and 2005, I was doing reasonably well, I felt, but I did not truly understand the historical mission and cultivation style of a disciple of the Fa-rectification period. As a result, my attachments seriously affected validating the Fa, and doing the three things became merely a formality. I deviated further and further away from the Fa. My desire to save sentient beings became weaker and weaker. After Teacher's hints and discussions with fellow practitioners, I finally found the root of my selfishness, which was validating myself instead of the Fa. In the future, I must take the Fa as my Teacher.
