Details about the Persecution of Falun Gong in Yongning County, Ningxia Autonomous Region

(Clearwisdom.net) Ever since July 20, 1999, Falun Dafa practitioners in Yongning County, Ningxia Autonomous Region, have been tortured by agents of Chinese Communist Party organizations. Many were taken to prisons and tortured. Some of the individual cases are listed below:

Mr. Jiang Tao, 33, is a teacher at Yongning County, Zhenggang Middle School. He was arrested in August 2000 and detained at the Yongning County Detention Center for more than 20 days. He went to Beijing in October 2000 to personally ask for justice for Falun Dafa and was sentenced to three and a half years in prison. He was subsequently tortured at a prison in Yinchuan City and then at Pingluo Prison. In July 2005 he was again arrested for distributing printed matter clarifying the facts about Falun Dafa, and in March 2006, he was sentenced to six years in prison. Currently, he is being held at the Luoping Prison.

Ms. Cao Guilan, 57, whose husband works at the Yongning County Grain Bureau, went to Beijing in October 2000 to personally ask for justice for Falun Dafa and was sentenced to two years of forced labor. In April 2005, she was arrested again and detained for distributing printed materials explaining the teachings of Falun Dafa. In March 2006, she was sentenced to four years in prison and she is currently being held at the Yinchuan City Women's Prison.

Ms. Zhu Haiyan, 33, is an employee at the Yongning County Environmental Protection Monitoring Center. In October 2000, she went to Beijing to ask for justice for Falun Dafa, and was sentenced to forced labor. On February 4, 2002, she was arrested again and detained for two weeks. In 2005 she was arrested and detained for distributing flyers explaining the teachings of Falun Dafa. In March 2006, she was sentenced to three and a half years of imprisonment. Currently, she is being held at the Yinchuan City Women's Prison.

Ms. Su Qingling, 39, is a government employee from Yanghe Town, Yongning County. In July 2000, she was detained at the Yinchuan City Detention Center for 15 days. In November 2000, she was sentenced to three years of forced labor for distributing Falun Dafa flyers. In March 2005, she was tortured at the Ningxia Brainwashing Center for 20 days. In July 2005, she was arrested and sentenced to three years in prison. Currently, she is being held at the Yinchuan City Women's Prison.

Mr. Yao Qinghai, 63, is a retired employee of the Yongning County Forestry Bureau. He refused to give up his faith in Falun Dafa and did not want to betray fellow practitioners, and was therefore arrested on January 23, 2002, and sentenced to one year of forced labor. On March 15, 2004, he was reported to police and arrested when he was explaining the real situation of Falun Dafa to someone. He was detained at the Yongning County Detention Center for a month.

Mr. Su Xueren, 64, was a manager at the Yongning County Quality Control Office. It became known that he was studying the Fa and practicing the Falun Dafa exercises, and his house was ransacked. He was arrested on February 4, 2002 and detained at the Yongning County Detention Center for more than 20 days because Falun Dafa books and related materials were found during the search.

Ms. Chen Shuhui, 67, was a former employee at the Qiyuan Medical Office of Yongning County. On February 4, 2002, she was arrested and detained for three days. She was later sentenced to two years in prison with probation.

Mr. Ren Chuntian, 72, is a retired employee of the Yongning County Agricultural Bank. On February 4, 2002, he was arrested and detained for two months. Afterwards, he was sentenced to three years in prison with probation

Mr. Wu Shangcheng, 36, is employed by the Yongning County Glass Factory. In October 2000 he went to Beijing to demand justice for Falun Dafa and was sentenced to three years in prison. When he refused to renounce his faith, he was held for an additional three months.

Mr. Li Zhining, 35, is employed at the Yongning County Petrol Company. In October 2000, he went to Beijing to request justice for Falun Dafa, and was sentenced to three years in prison. He was detained and tortured at different places, including Yinchuan City, Pingluo, Taixi, and Wuzhong.

Mr. Nan Yongsheng, 42, is an official at the Yongning County Civil Affairs Bureau. Because he practices Falun Gong, he was arrested on March 25, 2005, taken to the Ningxia Brainwashing Center and tortured for a month. On June 4, 2007, he was again arrested by agents of the Yongning County Security Division and detained at the Yongning County Detention Center for a few days.

Mr. Wang Shihe, 60, is an employee at the Yongning County Food Bureau. In October 2000, he went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Dafa and was arrested and detained at the Yongning County Detention Center for over eight months.

Ms. Cui Wei, 36, is an employee of the Yongning County People's Bank. In October 2000, she went to Beijing to ask for justice for Falun Dafa and was sentenced to one year and a half in prison. In September 2005, she was detained at a brainwashing center for a month. On November 8, 2005, she was again arrested because someone was said to have reported on her. False evidence against her was provided by officers of the Yongning County 610 Office and the police department's National Security Division. The evidence claimed that Ms. Cui Wei had been writing letters to explain what Falun Dafa really is. She was detained at the Yinchuan City Detention Center and sentenced to one year of forced labor in December 2005.

Ms. Wang Hongxian, 46, is an employee of the Yongning County Petrol Company. In October 2000, she went to Beijing to ask for justice for Falun Dafa and was arrested and detained for more than two months. In April 2002, she was sentenced to two years of forced labor.

Ms. Ma Xiaofeng, 43, is an employee of the Yongning County Glass Factory. In October 2000, she went to Beijing to ask for justice for Falun Dafa, and she was sentenced to three years of forced labor at the Ningxia Juvenile Female Labor Camp (1).

Ms. Chen Bo, 53, is a former employee of the Yongning County Business Hardware Company. On March 12, 2002, she was arrested and detained at the Yinchuan City Detention Center for 36 days.

Mr. Wu Xinge, 38, is an employee of the Yongning County Film Company. In November 2004, he was reported for distributing printed matter about Falun Dafa and was sentenced to one year of forced labor.

Ms. Qu Zhenglian, 62, is president of the Yongning County Second Kindergarten. Since she never gave up studying the Fa and doing the exercises, her house was ransacked. Because Falun Dafa books and materials were found, she was detained at the Yongning County Detention Center for three days.

Mr. Yang Zhanlin, 72, was the head of the Yongning County Forestry Bureau. On February 4, 2002, he was arrested and detained for 18 days.

Ms. XiaoYanzhi, 39, is a farmer in Xuwang Village, Shengyi Township,Yongning County. On December 8, 2003, she was arrested and detained for two weeks. On February 18, 2004, she was arrested and held at the Ningxia City Brainwashing Center for 64 days.

Ms. Zhou Cuifang, 49, is a farmer from Xuwang Village, Shengyi Township, Yongning County. On March 25, 2002, she was arrested and detained for seven days.

Note:

(1) Ningxia Juvenile Female Labor Camp - At the time, China had run out of prison space to detain practitioners, so many adult practitioners were detained in juvenile facilities.
