Two Telemarketing Calls Illustrate Change in Public Opinion
(Clearwisdom.net) As the phone rang again, I picked it up. This was the
second telemarketing call I had received from a Chinese salesperson this
morning, which was pretty rare for the little town in Ontario, Canada, where I
live. The caller was a middle-aged lady who seemed kind, and spoke pure and perfect
Chinese. She introduced me to the Government's new policies on RESP (Registered
Education Savings Plan). Though I was pretty busy then, I still listened
patiently. When she had finished talking I replied that I already had an account
with RESP. We continued to chat for quite a while. I asked her how long ago she
had left Mainland China and what she thought of Canada. She told me that she had
left China more than 6 years ago and that she thought the environment in Canada
was good for children to grow up in. She also mentioned that, for adults, it was
easier to access different forms of information freely, which gave her a broader
perspective. I agreed with her and continued with this topic. I
talked about how I was shocked when I saw the horrible situation of Falun Gong
practitioners who had been persecuted and the truth about the so-called
"Tiananmen Self-Immolation." When we talked about the Chinese
Communist Party (CCP) harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners,
the lady said, "I studied Arts and am quite familiar with the history of
China. The CCP became so frenzied, losing its conscience. Its fate is to perish
and nothing else. After Jiang stepped down, his faction wanted to maintain its
evil governing role. Hu and Wen dared not redress Falun Gong; otherwise, if all
Chinese people came to know the truth about the persecution, the CCP would not
be able to exist for a single day. Of course the CCP no longer deserves to
redress Falun Gong; it has already lost this opportunity." I asked her whether she knew about the open letter that Wang Zhaojun, a
standing member of the Anhui Province Political Consultative Commission, sent to
Hu Jintao. I informed her that in this letter, he pointed out that the
persecution of Falun Gong was a persecution against all Chinese people, that the
main perpetrators should be held responsible and the victims should be
compensated by the country. She said she hadn't seen the letter yet, but she
expressed her admiration for Mr. Wang's courage and deep insight. She said that
this letter represented public opinion. It said what everyone wanted to say. Coincidentally, as I stated earlier, the first telemarketing phone call I
received this morning was also from a Chinese person, a girl from Changchun. She
worked for a well known telephone company and wanted to promote their phone
services to me. Before the telephone conversation ended, I told her that it was
our predestined relationship that made her call me. I also told her that 28
million Chinese around the world had either quit the Chinese Communist Party
and/or the Youth League and Young Pioneers. I said that I hoped that she could
stay away from the evil and do her part in stopping the persecution of Falun
Gong as well as helping her relatives in China to learn the truth. I also said
that I hoped that she would choose a good future for herself. She told me, in a
serious tone, that she always reads The Epoch Times and she would write
her declaration to quit the Youth League and Young Pioneers. I was very touched as I hung up the phone. Due to the persistent efforts made
by Falun Gong practitioners, both inside and outside China, to stop the
persecution by peaceful and rational means, more and more people around the
world, from different walks of life, have begun to clearly see the true evil
nature of the CCP. Not only are the people against this persecution in their
hearts, they have begun to step outside the boundaries imposed by the CCP with
their thoughts. They are breaking through the silence caused by the high
pressured horrors from the CCP, to tell strangers their opinions. They dare to
stand up and say "No" to the persecutors, use different methods to
support Falun Gong practitioners who hold true to their righteous beliefs, and
help disintegrate the CCP by their actions. November 5, 2007
