Mr. Zhang Zhi Cruelly Force-Fed in 2006 by Daqing Prison Authorities

Mr. Zhang Zhi, around 40 years old, used to work in the Security Division of Daqing Petroleum Institute in Heilongjiang Province. He began to cultivate Falun Gong in 1994. He was sentenced to prison for validating Dafa, and he is presently detained in the Education Ward of the Daqing Prison. In mid-May 2006, Jiang Shuchen, the deputy warden, joined forces with the Daqing Prison 610 Office to launch another round of persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Mr. Zhang refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing and would not put on prison clothes. Incited by Jiang Shuchen, the guards of the Education Ward locked him in a small cell. Mr. Zhang launched a hunger strike to protest the persecution. The physicians in the prison hospital cruelly force-fed him. They incited four or five prisoners to hold him down on a cement platform and pry his mouth open with a steel bar. As a result, many of his teeth were loosened and one fell out.
