Turkey: Sewing the Seeds of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" in the Hearts of Children (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) From October 4^th to 11^th, 2007, Turkish Falun Dafa practitioners were invited to a kindergarten within the Palmiye School in the city of Mersin, to teach the five sets of Falun Gong exercises to the children. The practitioners introduced Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa), along with the fundamental principles of Falun Gong, which are "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance."

In September, Ms. Nursen, the director of the kindergarten within the Palmiye School, became acquainted with a Falun Dafa practitioner who clarified the truth to her. After she read the truth-clarifying material given to her by a practitioner, she became very interested in Falun Dafa. When she heard that Falun Gong exercises are taught free of charge, she felt extremely pleased and surprised. She expressed that it was hard to find such a good practice being taught free of charge. Subsequently she invited Falun Dafa practitioners to her kindergarten to teach the exercises. The practitioner happily accepted the invitation, and arranged a date for this to happen.

The children of this kindergarten were ages 4 to 6 years old. On considering the young age of the students and to allow them to learn all five exercises, Falun Dafa practitioners used a gradual teaching process. Even though the children were very young, they put much effort into learning the movements. A regular teaching session in the kindergarten is only 20 minutes long, but during the days in which practitioners taught the exercises, the children would practice for around 40 minutes each time, and never complained that they were tired. Throughout the ongoing process of teaching, practitioners spoke with the children about Falun Dafa, and how to be a good person by following the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion -Forbearance," thus planting these benevolent seeds in their hearts.

The patience and friendliness displayed by the Falun Dafa practitioners left a deep impression on the teachers and students of the school. A teacher who came to the kindergarten recently decided to begin practicing Falun Dafa, and said she would continue to practice the exercises every day. A number of other teachers in the kindergarten also displayed deep interest in Falun Dafa, and obtained materials from practitioners.

On the last day, Ms. Nursen expressed her deep appreciation to practitioners, and said it had been decided to let the children at her kindergarten practice the five exercises of Falun Gong every day. Before they parted, practitioners gave origami lotus flowers to the children and teachers as a gift.
