Practitioners Persecuted by Police in Tongchuan City, Shaanxi Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Many Dafa disciples in Tongchuan City, Shaanxi Province, have been persecuted for their beliefs. The following describe a few of the cases.

1. The Yintai District Police Department and the local 610 Office arrested Ms. Xu Huifang at her home in June 2007. Ms. Xu, 64, was an employee of the Tongchuan Construction Company. She is currently being held at the Yaozhou District Detention Center. This was her third arrest.

2. Ms. Liu Chunhua, 39, the daughter of Ms. Xu, was an employee of the Cangxie Mine, a subsidiary of the Tongchuan Construction Company. In 2002 she was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison. She was tortured in prison and suffered severe psychological trauma as a result. Her husband subsequently divorced her and abandoned their six-year-old son.

3. Ms. Zhou Jingli, 67, had retired from the Shaanxi Province Transportation Company in Tongchuan City. She was arrested for the second time in April 2006, and she was sentenced to five years in prison.

4. Ms. Zhou Fengqin, 54, an employee of the Tongchuan City Women's and Children's Hospital, was arrested for the third time in October 2006. She was sentenced to five years in prison.

5. Mr. Zhang Qin, an employee of the Tongchuan City Aluminum Factory, was taken to the Wangshi'ao Brainwashing Center on three different occasions. He was tortured both mentally and physically, and he died in 2006 at the age of 58.
