Authorities in Linyi County, Shandong Province Arrest Mr. Cao Guozhen and Ransack His Home

(Clearwisdom.net) On October 12, 2007, Chunan County authorities and Zhulu Town Police Station police arrested Mr. Cao Guozhen, a Falun Gong practitioner. He was taken to the Chunan County Detention Center in Shandong Province. Mr. Cao went on a hunger strike to protest. This has been going on for more than two weeks. Because of a news blockade, details about what has happened to Mr. Cao remain unknown. Requests by relatives to visit him were declined. They are very worried about his physical well-being.

Cao Guozhen is 35 years old. On October 12, 2007, five local officials and Zhulun Town police officers went to Mr. Cao's home. After they saw Teacher Li's picture on the wall, they raided the home without showing any documentation. They locked Mr. Cao inside his own home, mobilized many policemen, and illegally arrested him. They took the TV, two VCDs, a satellite receiver, a laptop, wireless connection card, printer, paper cutter, and some truth-clarification materials. They also took Mr. Cao's sedan away.

On October 13, 2007, the authorities raided his home again. They found and confiscated materials such as the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.

According to inside information, Cao Guozhen was once sentenced to forced labor for two years and three months in March, 2001. After he was sent to the labor camp, his wife left home because of the pressure. Later, she feared being persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party and divorced Mr. Cao. At that time, their child was very young. With no mother or father present, the boy had to be raised by his grandparents and lived a difficult life. Whenever the grandfather thought about how lost the boy must have felt without the love of both parents, he could not help shed tears.

After Cao Guozhen was released from the labor camp he lived in other cities and drove a taxi to make a living. His income was very limited, so his budget was always tight. Later, to take care of his child, Mr. Cao returned to his hometown and borrowed some money to buy a taxi to earn a living. Since it was a remote township location, his income barely covered expenses.

Now that Cao Guozhen was recently arrested again, the impact on his family has been substantial. His parents are unable to eat normally and are miserable. He is separated once again from his son. Mr. Cao's father brought the child to the Public Security offices and detention center so the boy could visit his father. The police did not even let them see Mr. Cao.

We have learned that to escape responsibility and public condemnation, the Chunan 610 Office has changed its name to "National Security Brigade".
