France: Anti-Torture Exhibition in Paris on World Human Rights Day (Photo)

(Clearwisdom.net) The 10th of December, 2007, was World Human Rights Day, and many advocates for peace gathered in Human Rights Square in Paris, expressing their longing for human rights and peace. Falun Gong practitioners also went there to call on people to help stop the persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

The exercise demonstration and anti-torture exhibition at Human Rights Square caused many people to stop and watch and take photos. Quite a lot of people wanted to sign the petition. There was one French couple who came to the square with their ten-year-old daughter. This gentleman worked in China for one year and the whole family had just come back to France. After seeing the anti-torture exhibition, they were nearly in tears. They said, "We never ever got the chance to hear about such a cruel persecution while we were in China. If we did not meet you here today, we would always be in the dark."

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a cultivation practice guided by the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance. It was first introduced to the public by Master Li Hongzhi in 1992 in mainland China and soon spread widely. By 1999, there were nearly 100 million people doing this practice, as indicated by a Chinese government survey. However, fearing Falun Gong's widespread popularity, and out of jealousy, then CCP (Chinese Communist Party) leader Jiang Zemin ordered the traditional Chinese practice eradicated. By fully manipulating his position and power, Jiang started this brutal persecution of Falun Gong. The persecution has been going on in many aspects, from illegal arrest and labor camp detention to various methods of torture, even including organ harvesting from live Falun Gong practitioners. At present, over 3,100 Falun Gong practitioners are confirmed to have been persecuted to death.

Falun Gong practitioners have exposed the whole dictatorial history of the CCP in China, and how it lies and deceives people to cover up the truth. The peaceful and rational protests by Falun Gong practitioners aim to give the world's people the opportunity to find out the truth for themselves.
