The Persecution of Practitioners in Maoming City, Guangdong Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Since July 20, 1999, authorities of Maoming City, Guangdong Province, have followed the CCP regime's evil policy to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Below is only part of what they have done to local practitioners.

Ms. Lin Yanmei, a practitioner from Shuidong Town, Dianbai County of Maoming City, was arrested in October 2004 by police from the local 610 Office and National Security Group without any warrant. They did not inform her family afterwards. Ms. Lin was transferred to Guangdong Provincial Sanshui Women's Forced Labor Camp and on the same day was sentenced two years of forced labor. In order to press her to give up her belief, the forced labor camp has tortured her in many ways and added drugs to her food to destroy her central nervous system, which has caused her to have a mental disorder. Her family went to the local police department and the 610 Office to ask for her release but never got a response. Unfortunately, her sister Lin Limei, poisoned by CCP propaganda, went to the forced labor camp with her father to smear her rather than to help her.

Ms. Yang Qiujuan of the Xialiguan District, Nanhai Town, Maoming City, was arrested in December 2004 by Maoming City's National Security Group and sent to Sanshui Forced Labor Camp. During the ensuing years, she did not have any income, and her family was in a very difficult financial situation.

Ms. Li Jianyu and Ms. Wu Qing, are both from Poxin Town in the Maogang District, Maoming City. They were arrested in December and November 2004 respectively, and presently both are detained in Sanshui Woman's Forced Labor Camp.

Mr. Li Kun was arrested in January 2002 when he was making truth clarification materials in another city and was taken back to Maoming City's detention center. He was sentenced to 14 years imprisonment. He is serving his term in the No. 2 Division of Yangjiang Jail.

Mr. Li Xinhua, a high school student in Poxin Township, the Maogang District, was also arrested in January 2002. He was subsequently sentenced to seven years imprisonment even though he was a juvenile. He is still in Yangjiang Jail.

Mr. He Gengqing, a former college student of Zhanjiang City's Ocean College, was dismissed by the college in 1999 due to his adherence to Falun Gong. Mr. He was arrested in January 2002 and sentenced to eleven years in Yangjiang Jail.
