Melbourne, Australia: Parade Held to Mark Eighteen Million Withdrawals from the Communist Organizations in China (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On February 10, 2007, on the busiest business street of Chinatown in Melbourne, a parade was held to support eighteen million withdrawals from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations.

The rally was hosted by the Melbourne Service Center for Quitting the CCP. With the assistance of the police, the event included rallies in the middle and at the end of the parade. The first rally was held on the busiest business street in Chinatown in both English and Chinese. After the parade, another rally was held on city square, the starting point of the parade, so that more people and tourists could learn about the quitting the CCP movement in China and the CCP's atrocities of live organ removal.

Representatives from the Service Center for Quitting the CCP, the Epoch Times, the Falun Dafa Association in Victoria and former Olympic Silver medalist Ms. Jan Becker gave speeches at the rallies.

Mr. Yu of the Service Center for Quitting CCP stated that along with the spreading of the "Nine Commentaries on Communist Party", more Chinese people have quit the CCP.

Ms. Fu of the Epoch Times recommended to the public the other commentary, "Disintegrating the Party Culture". She said that heaven would destroy the CCP and eliminating the CCP's contamination of Chinese culture is an essential action.

The event caught the attention of the public and tourists, who stopped to watch or take photos. The truth-clarification literature that was prepared before the parade was all distributed during the parade.

A group of students from Taiwan was interested in the parade and asked what Falun Gong is and why such a parade was held. When a practitioner explained that the CCP extends the persecution to overseas and influences media in Taiwan, they understood. One of them said that some practitioners in Taiwan were denied entry to Hong Kong and mainland China.

A senior lady said that before the parade she signed the petition supporting the Australia investigation team's request to enter China to conduct an independent investigation into accusations of live organ removal. She said that it is horrible, and how could such things happen in today's world.

A tourist from Canada praised the parade and said that he knew the CCP very well due to his work and life. Everyone should have the freedom of expression.

A student at Deakin University said that he heard of the live organ removal from the media. He supported the parade very much and said it would be best to have a parade every day to let everyone know of the persecution.

Mr. Mao, who lived in Singapore for eleven years after leaving China and now lives in Melbourne, saw the parade while shopping. He followed the procession to city square. He said that in the fourth grade (about 1969) in China, he bought an expensive short wave radio receiver to listen BBC broadcasts and so he knew the nature of the CCP. As a Christian, he supports the quitting the CCP activity.
