Finland: Finnish People Sincerely Support Falun Gong (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) At noon on February 17, 2007, Falun Gong practitioners from Helsinki displayed banners reading "Falun Dafa is Good," along with photos and posters on the sidewalk in front of the train station. The goal of their activity was to expose the Chinese Communist regime’s seven-year-long genocidal persecution against tens of millions of Falun Gong practitioners in China who believe in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The practitioners in particular wanted to raise awareness of the communist regime’s atrocities of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners for sale. They also prepared a signature book for the general public to sign a petition against the persecution.

When practitioners hung up the banners, two older men set up a tripod to take photos of the activities. Afterward, they also asked the practitioners for truth-clarification materials. The fact is that a week ago when the practitioners launched another activity there to support the eighteen million Chinese people quitting the Chinese Communist Party and its affiliated organizations, these two older men listened to the practitioners’ explanation of Falun Gang and the persecution. To keep their promise to the practitioners from the other day, they simply wanted to let more Finnish people know the facts of the persecution.

A young man asked a practitioner where the signature book would be sent to. The practitioner replied that it would be submitted to the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs or a human rights organization. The man further asked, "Why didn’t the Finnish government respond to the persecution? I would like to help you by posting your messages on my own web page." The practitioner said, "Thank you. You may add a hyperlink on your web page to the Falun Gong websites."

Another man said to a practitioner, "I know that Falun Gong has been persecuted in China. It’s really very cruel. You’ve done the right thing. You should let all the people around the world know the atrocities, and I’ll support you. Because many countries give top priority to economic interests, they simply keep silent in this regard. However, it is wrong to do so."

A practitioner participating in the activities said, "The objective of holding this activity is to tell the world's people that the atrocities perpetrated by the Chinese Communist regime are still going on at present. Despite the threat of death, practitioners in China still explain the facts of Falun Gong and the persecution to the public, while their fellow practitioners in various countries around the world are doing the same thing through diverse approaches. Their common objective is to arouse awareness of the persecution against Falun Gong, so as to put an end to the atrocities as soon as possible.
