The Poem on a Headboard
By a practitioner from Mainland China
(Clearwisdom.net) In my village, there is a practitioner named Huilan,
who is a town cadre. She started practicing Falun Dafa after the persecution
started. Many local government employees know that she practices Dafa and she
"clarifies the truth" among them smoothly. Her coworkers all got to
know about the evilness of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and many of them
have quit the CCP. Some have even helped their family members to quit. There is a also very interesting phenomenon. When her coworkers had
conflicts, they all turned to Huilan for her judgment and help, hoping to
relieve their problems. Huilan always invited them to her dormitory and showed
them Master's poem, "An Upright Person" from "Hongyin"
(Version A) that she had transcribed and posted on the headboard of
her bed: He who acts for his name She usually asked them to read Master's poem so that they could understand
its meaning and principles. She then talked with them about xinxing
and how practitioners try to broadminded. Through this, her coworkers all came
to respect Falun Dafa. Not only did Huilan clarify the truth to her coworkers, she also clarified
truth to people she didn't know, such as the shoe repair person and the
vegetable retailer. Several times, when her team leaders or managers were sick,
she clarified the truth to them from an observer's point of view and told them
many of the amazing things that have happened to Dafa practitioners. She also
gave them Dafa amulets as gifts. They got to know the truth and expressed their
gratitude to her. In her spare time, Huilan always walks street by street in the village to
distribute truth-clarification CDs and copies of the "Nine
Commentaries on the Communist Party." When we talked to Huilan, we felt that she was very humble and never showed
off how much work she did for Dafa. She exchanged her experiences with us and
discussed with us how we could all do better. She said, "We just do our
best to do what Master asked us to do and fulfill a Dafa practitioner's
responsibilities." March 3, 2007
a life of anger and hate is his
He who acts for profit
cold is he, knowing not his kin
He who acts for emotion
many are the troubles he brings himself
Bitter,
fighting away,
he makes karma all his life.
Not seeking a name
life is carefree and content
Not set on profit
one is known as humane and righteous
Not stirred by emotion
the mind is quiet, desires few
Kind,
cultivating himself,
he builds up virtue all his years.
