Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Guo Jinfu from Shanghai City is Secretly Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

(Clearwisdom.net) In July 2006, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Guo Jinfu was arrested and held at an undisclosed location. We have recently received information that Guo Jinfu was secretly tried and sentenced to three years in prison on December 20, 2006 in Shanghai. The people responsible for this sentencing are those who are still closely following the Falun Gong persecution policy. Mr. Guo's family was not informed of the trial when it happened. It is now known that Guo Jinfu has been sent to the Qingdong Forced Labor Camp and is still being persecuted. The following are details about this practitioner:

Mr. Guo Jinfu was born in 1963 and registered at No. 33 Gaojiabang, Caobao Road, Shanghai. He lived at Room 3-301, No. 118 Lane, Jiuting Street, Shongjiang District, Shanghai. He was arrested and sentenced two and a-half years of forced labor in October 2001 for distributing truth-clarifying information. His wife Chen Wenying has been sentenced to forced labor as well. She suffered a mental collapse as a result of being subjected to persecution in the Shanghai Qingpu Women's Forced Labor Camp.

Patrolling officers arrested Mr. Guo on the evening on July 6, 2006. It happened when Guo Jinfu was placing video CD copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party into shopping baskets hanging in front of parked bicycles along Huashan Road, at the Xujiahui Shopping Center. The lawless people also claimed that Guo Jinfu wrote Falun Gong phrases on 10 yuan bills. He was charged with the crime of "obstructing law implementation in the name of an evil religion." The Chinese Communist Party (CCP)-assigned defense lawyer Ye Zhuying even stated, "No objection to the prosecutor's charge..." He collaborated with the CCP court to persecute the practitioner.

Guo Jinfu's father Guo Songqing (non-practitioner) was distraught upon hearing the news that his son was sentenced to three years in prison. He wrote a letter to related branches. Here is part of the letter.

To whom it is concerned in the court:

Those who are familiar with my son Guo Jinfu all know he was not a healthy man before he practiced Falun Gong. He had meningitis when he was young, which left him with a permanent impairment. He often had sudden strokes and bowel and bladder incontinence, even as he grew up. Sometimes he even lost consciousness for a short time. In addition, he had severe asthma. We, his parents, knew of his poor health very well.

After he began practicing Falun Gong, he changed so much that we felt surprised and happy for him. All the previous symptoms he had suffered from disappeared. He started to show us filial obedience and also took care of his wife.

My daughter-in-law Chen Wenying had been held in a forced labor camp for two years for practicing Falun Gong. While in the camp she became mentally traumatized and was hospitalized three times. When she had a mental collapse, she would lose control of her bowels and bladder. However, my son was not cold-shouldered at all. He took care of her and kept her clean at all times.

He wanted to take care of us as well as her and brought my wife and me to his home. He took care of everything at home. He tried to make us good meals but often just ate leftovers himself, for which his mother often criticized him. His mother had two major surgeries and later was diagnosed with a heart problem and liver schistosomiasis (snail fever that can affect the skin and internal organs). My son has patiently accompanied his mother to different large hospitals including Huashan, Hongfangzhi, No. 6 Hospital and Zhongshan, to see doctors. We enjoyed our retirement time with my son. I depend on him for the time I have left to live. He is reliable, healthy and has a good heart. Now we have received this notice.

I was an old Communist party member who joined the Party secretly in 1947. In order to carry out my duties as an informant I was wounded four times in the line of duty. I worked hard without complaint until I retired. I even delayed my retirement for two months in order to finish the work well. Now, because of my son Guo Jinfu's detention, my retirement is now difficult to maintain.

I am 77 years old and have high blood pressure. I have to take care of my wife who has several illnesses and also take care of my mentally traumatized daughter-in-law. How can I live like this?
