A Retired Farmer: "Now I Really Believe in the Divine"

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a 70 year-old farmer, and I live in Henan Province. In 2001 I became very sick with a stroke and hemiparalysis. When my niece heard this, she came to see me. She urged me to learn Falun Gong, or if I read and say "Falun Dafa is good," "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good," I could also achieve a good effect. I didn't believe in these ideas at all.

Throughout my whole lifetime (having been poisoned by the evil Chinese Communist Party), I didn't believe in gods, I didn't burn incense or kowtow either. I didn't believe one could become healthy just after saying something. I thought only hospitals could treat illnesses. In my mind, it was useless to think about trying anything else.

I went to a hospital that specialized in the treatment of strokes, and stayed there for 6 months. At the end, my condition had stabilized, but I was not cured. As an old farmer, I could not continue to afford to stay in a hospital like this! The medical expenses were very expensive. I had already spent over 10,000 yuan, and would go into debt if I stayed any longer. I thought I would go home to treat my illness slowly. Having taken some medicines, I went home. Several days later, I went to the hospital for inspections, a chemical examination, infusion, and to pick up more medicine. After five years of continuing the hospital visits and taking the medicines, I did not see any improvement.

Last year, each day I became steadily worse, and felt that I was living a life not much better than death. I felt death was approaching me, and that I could possibly die at any time. I felt despaired and hopeless. Hearing that I was going to die, my niece came to see me again. Again she urged me to say "Falun Dafa is good" and "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good." She said, "Only Dafa can save you. Our Master teaches that Dafa is the only hope for all sentient beings be saved. Don't be stubborn any more. After all this suffering what are you afraid of? Just try whatever means you can, as long as it can cure your sickness. Don't think too much." Filled with pain and despair, I listened to her words, and thought: "Yes, why not give it a try. Saying the words can't hurt." So, I promised to do it.

She gave me a life-saving card, on which it was written: "Falun Dafa is good," "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good." On the back, it was written: "Sincerely read: Falun Dafa is good, be happy and believe that all illnesses are gone; think that Falun Dafa is good, be free from natural and man-made disasters."

That day, I memorized all these words. Each day I thought about these words. On the first day, I didn't feel as uncomfortable as before. I started to have hope in life, and felt more relaxed each day. I felt very happy too.

When my niece came to see me again, I looked like a completely different person. I was in good spirits, and not sick at all. I said, "Thank you so much. It's you who has given me this second life." My niece said: "Don't thank me. I don't have that capability. It is the benevolent compassion of Master Li Hongzhi, who saves all people in the world. As long as you believe in Dafa, He blesses you. Dafa saves people with predestined relationships. This means that you have the predestined relationship with Dafa. You are predestined to be saved by Dafa. You should thank Master Li Hongzhi and Falun Dafa for saving you." After having heard what she said, I understood and said at once: "Thanks to Master Li Hongzhi and Falun Dafa for saving me." I repeated this three times.

Since then, I really do believe that there are gods. I had lived for 70 years, but had never seen or heard about such miraculous things. It was the first time since my birth that I had heard and felt the existence of gods. I felt extremely lucky. It was an amazing event, something that is hard to encounter in millions upon millions of years. Yet I had encountered it. I was grateful for heaven and earth, for Dafa and for Master Li, from inside my heart .

One day, a neighbor fell ill. I thought: Dafa is so good. I must tell him too so he could be saved also. This would be doing a good deed, so why not? So I went to speak to him. I did not know what I would say, but I found as I spoke to him that the words came easily and fluently. Thus I realized that the promotion of Fa manifests wisdom.

Now my spouse has also improved and gotten rid of all the old, bad habits. Dafa has brought good luck to our whole family. We have all enjoyed the happiness of Dafa. Thanks to Master Li Hongzhi again and His Falun Dafa, which saves all beings!
