On January 24, 2007, Jilin Province Women's Prison gathered over a hundred practitioners held in different divisions into a so-called "study class" where they were subjected to forced brainwashing tactics. The guards used former practitioners to use violence to try to force them to sign the "four statements" and "reports of thoughts" against Falun Gong. To those practitioners who refused to sign, they applied all types of different torture methods, from punching and kicking to "hanging up"(1), a severe form of torture. Practitioner Ms. Zhao Jian steadfastly refused to cooperate and consequently was hung up. To endure the pain, she bit her teeth so hard that her tongue bled. However, the guards still refused to let her down.

On June 16, 2006, police officers from Guxian Town Police Station in Pingdu City broke into the home of practitioner Ms. Liu Mingzhi of Penglaiqian Village and confiscated Falun Dafa books and truth-clarification materials. In the following days, the police constantly harassed and threatened Ms. Liu and used master keys to enter her home in an attempt to arrest her, but she was not home.

On February 8, 2007, police officers from Guxian Town Police Station again attempted to arrest Ms. Liu by breaking into her home. Ms. Liu wisely walked away. A group of police officers then broke into the home of her neighbors. At the time, the neighbors were still sleeping. Shocked, the family sternly scolded the police officers for "knowing the law but still violating it." Under the righteous words of these neighbors, the officers left feeling ashamed.

Practitioner Mr. Wang Hongge from Changchun City was illegally sentenced to 13 years of imprisonment and was held in Shiling Prison of Siping City in Jilin Province. Due to over six years of torture, his mind and body were severely injured. He has been sent to the Jilin Province Prison Management Bureau Central Hospital (the Tiebei Police Department Hospital) where he is subjected to continued torture. His heart is in poor condition. He has blood in his stool and is experiencing difficulty eating.

Practitioner Ms. Chen Mei's husband, Mr. Zhang Wei, is also a Falun Dafa practitioner. He was arrested several years ago and is currently being held in Yingkou Prison and subjected to torture. After her husband's arrest, Ms. Chen was forced to leave home to avoid being arrested, and even her family members did not know where she was. Ms. Chen's parents-in-law are also practitioners. The wife of Mr. Zhang Wei's younger brother, Ms. Huang Hui (not a practitioner), participated in the persecution of practitioners. Recently, Ms. Chen Mei was taken home and then arrested again shortly after.

Practitioner Mr. Zhang Zhongping from Longmen Village, Longmen Township of Laishui County, was tortured in the Laishui County CCP Party School in the spring of 2001. He was fined 2,500 yuan. In the summer of 2001, the Longmen Township Government and Police Station took Mr. Zhang and his wife, Ms. Wang Bingpo, to the Laishui County Detention Center where they were held for 12 days.

In the winter of 2001, Ms. Wang was reported when she was clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa in the Nanchengsi District. She was brutally beaten by the Longmen Township police and had 500 yuan extorted from her.

In the spring of 2002, Ms. Wang's two copies of Zhuan Falun and one copy of Touring North America to Teach the Fa were taken away in Wangcun Township. She was taken to the Laishui County Detention Center and was tortured for 48 days and had 1,000 yuan extorted from her. The Longmen Township Government and Police Station sent people to the home of Mr. Zhang and Ms. Wang over 20 times and confiscated over ten books.

On February 21, 2007, the Loucun Township Police Station of Laishui County sent police officers led by Wang Jinshi (male) to arrest practitioners Ms. Liu Yuelian, Mr. Cao Jiwei, and Mr. Li Zhengfang on the road to Hugezhuang Village. The arrested practitioners are currently being held in the County Detention Center and being tortured.

A Fa study group in Tianhe District of Guangzhou City was followed and monitored for many days. On February 10, 2007, practitioner Mr. Li Qinghua and seven other practitioners were arrested while they were studying.

In the middle of February 2007, a practitioner from Dianjiang County of Chongqing City left a copy of Zhuan Falun and his savings slip in a taxicab. Consequently, he was reported to the Dianjiang County police by the taxi driver and later arrested. The practitioner who gave the copy of Zhuan Falun to this arrested practitioner was also arrested, together with several other practitioners. At present, the details are not clear. Several fellow practitioners are being held in the Dianjiang County Detention Center.

Practitioner Ms. Dai Xiaomin used to be held in the Nanjing City Detention Center in Jiangsu Province. She protested the persecution by going on a hunger strike. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

(1) In the "Hanging Up" torture, practitioners' hands are tied with thin ropes and then they are hung up for several hours, or even several days. Sometimes the rope is so tight it breaks; and sometimes the rope cuts into the flesh. Some practitioners have lost consciousness while being hung up. In many cases, the practitioners are hung by their handcuffs, which causes broken bones. After the torture, some practitioners' hands and arms are so injured that they have difficulty using them for a long time. Some have become permanently disabled.
