Validating the Fa Is Our Final Goal

(Clearwisdom.net) I previously had an attachment to consummation. I often pressured myself to continually get rid of my attachments. I was afraid that if I could not reach consummation, I could not return to paradise and would miss the wonders of being a divine being and have to stay in this filthy world. During my cultivation, I slowly gained understandings that the final goal of my cultivation is not my personal consummation.

When Teacher said that many of us were Kings in the heavens and came down to earth, I suddenly understood that we are here to assist Teacher to validate the Fa during the Fa-rectification period, and save sentient beings. My attachment to consummation was only my selfish dream of the wonders of being a divine being. Heaven is very wonderful! If we came down just for the wonders of heaven, why did we come down to cultivate in order to regain the wonders that we already had as kings from above? We came down because every paradise had already become degenerated and could not get better, so we took a huge risk and came down to help Teacher to rectify the Fa.

I believe that if we cultivate just to reach consummation, we have a hidden factor of "selfishness." When we validate the Fa for the purpose of saving sentient beings during the Fa-rectification, we can truly eliminate our deeply rooted selfishness. In "Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Western U.S. Fa Conference," Teacher said,

"Selfishness is a fundamental attribute of the cosmos of the past. Because of that attribute, formation-stasis-degeneration-destruction and birth-aging-sickness-death are inevitable. In the future the Fa will be all-harmonizing, perfect, and selfless. The change in that fundamental attribute of the cosmos leads to fundamental changes in the cosmos's progression and beings' characteristics. The fundamental attribute of the cosmos has determined the fundamental state that the cosmos is in."

Only after we get rid of our "selfishness," can we truly march into the new universe and reach consummation.

"For a Fa-rectification period Dafa disciple, personal liberation is not the goal of cultivation: when you came, saving sentient beings was your great aspiration, and that is the responsibility and mission history has bestowed upon you in Fa-rectification."("Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World's People")

While studying the Fa and doing the exercises, I truly realized that the real purpose for us on earth is to assist Teacher in rectifying the Fa. Personal cultivation to consummation is only laying the foundation for our mission. In reality, when we are helping our Teacher to rectify the Fa, our every notion and our every action have been imbued with personal cultivating factors. It is a very serious matter because it is a battle between the good and the evil. For that reason, the requirements for us are indeed very high!
