Florida: Mayor of the City of West Palm Beach Proclaims May 13, 2007 as Falun Dafa Day

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Lois J. Frankel, Mayor of the City of West Palm Beach, Florida, proclaimed May 13, 2007 as Falun Dafa Day. The proclamation says: "May 13, 2007 marks the fifteenth anniversary of Falun Dafa and the City of West Palm Beach is pleased to join in celebrating this distinct art form that encourages people around the world to improve their health, calm their minds and deepen their understanding of life and humanity."

Whereas, Falun Dafa is an advanced exercise and meditation practice system of mind and body based on ancient wisdom aimed at improving energy circulation and emphasizes the cultivation of moral character by following the universal principal of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance; and

Whereas, since its initial introduction to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in 1992, Falun Dafa is now practiced by over 100 million people in 60 countries worldwide; and

Whereas, people who practice Falun Dafa come from every imaginable walk of life, as Falun Dafa transcends cultural, social, economic, and national boundaries and the practice has spread largely by word of mouth, as those who learn it usually finds benefits simply too good to keep to themselves; and

Whereas, since 1995, when Falun Dafa was introduced to the United States, many Americans have come to share and embrace the related exercises and teachings, and many workshops and classes have been offered at various community locations throughout the county; and

Whereas, Falun Dafa has played a significant role in bringing the peace to the world and has made remarkable contributions to the society that has been widely recognized and honored worldwide; and

Whereas, May 13, 2007 marks the fifteenth anniversary of Falun Dafa and the City of West Palm Beach is pleased to join in celebrating this distinct art form that encourages people around the world to improve their health, calm their minds and deepen their understanding of life and humanity.

Now Therefore, I, Lois J. Frankel, Mayor of the City of West Palm Beach, do hereby proclaim May 13, 2007 as:
