Whereas, A Great State is only as great as those persons or organizations who give exemplary service to their community, whether through participations in voluntary programs, through unique personal achievement in their profession or other endeavors or simply through a lifetime of good citizenry; and

Whereas, When individuals or organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of the great State of New York. May 13^th marks the day that Falun Dafa (Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public in China in 1992. The Falun Gong practitioners believe in living according to the principles of truthfulness, compassion and tolerance, which benefits society and promotes peaceful relations among all people in the world; now therefore be it

Resolved, That I am pleased to recognize The 8^th Annual World Falun Dafa Day; this event to be commemorated on Sunday, May 13, 2007.
